It's a beat thing, daddio. Betsey's Fall show was inspired by "beat chicks" and their berets, cat eye sunnies and all black ensembles. However, there were many touches of Betsey: rocker blazers, belted halter dresses, feathers, animal-print wrap dresses, oversized fur coats, and skinny pants with sheen. Compared to the other shows, whose color palettes have been rather subdued, Betsey's vibrant hues are a double shot of espresso, man.
Betsey also showed some items from her archives and some of these prints were way out there. For example a yellow sweater with oversized handguns emblazoned on them. Betsey?! On the less dangerous side were poufy cherry-print dresses, high-waisted shorts, a hot pink mini turtleneck dress and a retro striped swimsuit. The old Betsey is back . . . but with a newfound fierceness.

I wear a lot of color usually. I don't have time to go true the whole collection, but based on the vibrant pretty colors, and the few pics that I saw I'm loving this collection

7I don't see much in these that reflects beat culture (well, the cutesy fashion version, of course, not real beat culture, which was all about honest working men's attire, not turtlenecks and berets), except for #7, but as always, Betsey shakes things up. She rocks.
8I love Betsey! The reason why they all don't look beat is because part of the show was dedicated to her thirty years in business, while the other part was her beatnick- inspired Fall 2008 collection. Betsey rocks, as usual!
