If someone were to costume design a sci-fi ballerina flick, the result might be something like Rodarte's Fall 2008 collection. Tattered loosely-knit fishnets, super studded gloves and Louboutin heels, and Degas-inspired tutus: they were all there.
The sisters Mulleavy have come a long way in a few seasons, and this time around presented a spectacle of ghostly alien girls decked out in everything from a highlighter-green chiffon dress to a red and black yarn skirt. As far as being wearable or affordable, I'm not sure either applies to the collection, but it is definitely beautiful and whimsical — the two things Rodarte does best.
Stay tuned for my interview with one of the designer sisters!

I like looks #2, 3 and 14 in the slideshow.
1Very flowy and feminine looks...
2It's okay...
3I think the way some looks were put together they look a bit too grunge, but there are several dresses I like, the flowy thing can make things sexy without being slutty.
4The dresses are too fun!
5Ever since I have seen Kirsten Dunsts and several others wear Rodarte on red carpets I have been in love with them. Their designs are edgy and so forward.
This runway show was no different. I am in love with it; the best yet!
6meh. i don't like it really.
7my boyfriend thinks it's weird too.
I love these dresses.
8very cute
