Winter weather calls for boots, so chances are you have several pairs, like this BCBGirls 'Chill' Boot ($229), lying around. Key word: Lying. I'm going to stick up for your boots and say that just like in a department store, they deserve to stand up tall. You don't want them to slouch and lose their shape, do you?

These The Clear Box Co. Boot Supports ($5 per pair) are the best way to help your boots retain their shape. Simply stuff your boots and they're ready to stand. If you'd rather not spend money, you can hang your boots with a skirt hanger. To protect the leather, add a layer of tissue paper in between the clip and the boot. Now hang them in your closet or on back of your door.

i will get these when i buy my first pair of non-slouchy boots, because my current ones are slouchy suede ones from steve madden that i like more as they get a little older. perhaps next year i will buy a new pair of boots.
1Is there a word missing here?
2I want the boot forms that Nordstrom uses that not only stuff the boot, but also have a hanger on the end. Then I would install a low rack and hang/stand all of my boots.
and Kitkatherine... I don't understand what you mean when you say "I'll buy a new pair of boots next year"... unless you posted that on Dec 31. Why wait? Buy em now... lots of winter sales are happening now too!!!
3Hmm I never really thought about doing this...
I've never done it in the past and my boots all seem to be in pretty okay shape.
4or I just lay them down in the box & stack the boxes
5If I want mine to stand, I just use paper towel rolls and stick them inside.
6Smart!
7The paper towel roll idea is great! I might try that, but I doubt I'd buy these "boot supports". I usually just prop my boots up against the wall in my closet to keep them standing...they seem okay.
8I just use newspaper to stuff my boots when they're sitting in my closet. Paper towel rolls sound like a good idea!
9you can even use old rolled up magazines, like your glamour's, vogue's, etc!
10I have worked at footwear industry before and for storage wised, best not to use this type of 'stuffer' for leather shoes or boots because it will stretch the leather out. That is, unless you want the leather to stretch.
Best is still hang them or lightly stuff them with tissue or paper and lay them flat to store.
11I agree with Poshy!
12I am a neat freak and love to keep my boots upright. I used to use something similar and also the trees that push out with a spring in between. I recently discovered Booty Shapers (www.bootyshapers.com). They're by far the best I've used as they don't stretch or damage even the softest leather, and when i am not using them I can easily store them by deflating them. They are pretty new to the US so they can be hard to find but I went to their website and sent them an email to find out where I could by them. I got mine at shoebuy.com. Bye for now! - Liv
13Olivia! You are so on the money, i followed you advise as I am also a crazy neat freak. I got some bootyshapers in todays mail from shoe buy and love them. Finally I can relax with the knowledge that my $800 boots are protected when i'm not wearing them. Why didn't i think of this????
14I use cardboard for mine.
15I use cardboard for mine.
16ooh, I like the idea about the paper towel rolls! I've been looking for a cheap solution that won't possibly harm the boot for a good while. Thanks!
