Surprise! You're heading to Hollywood to cover the Oscars red carpet on Sunday — and you're freaking out a little bit about what to wear. You have to compete with people who have stylists and have been painstakingly planning what they're wearing for months, and you only have a week. Eeek! The only solution is to go glam, go all-out, and get noticed!
I'll start you off with this Brian Atwood Daphne Metallic Clutch ($1,195) because it's chic and understated — so go crazy with the dress!
Let's go Fab Finding! Be sure to come back and tell me when your Fab Finds are up, or just tag your Fab Finds with Oscars glam.
Now, you can build outfits by creating a list of clothing items. We have everything you need to build outfits, and you can use your Fab Find bookmarks, too. This is an even better way to put together an entire outfit when you are completing your Fab-Finding missions.

to cover the oscars, does one wear a gown or a cocktail dress?
1I assumed a gown because fab said you have to compete with people who have stylists which i think refers to the people on the red carpet. here's mine!!
2oh, i updated it!

4As the auburn haired green eyed girl that I am, I always jump at the chance to wear purple. Even though this gorgeous Marchesa dress just hit the runways two weeks ago, I fell in love with it and maybe there would be a way to pull a few strings.
5I went with a short cocktail dress instead of a gown - I know that sometimes announcers will wear gowns, but personally if I were a journalist covering the event off camera I'd definitely feel more comfortable in this fabulous outfit. The details on the Moschino dress are divine and those red patent jimmy choos are so hot. Pair it with the gold jewelry and the metallic clutch and you're oscar-ready.

7I can never post these right....
I LOVE THIS DRESS!
8Short Option :
9Here's mine..
10This will be fun!
11I went all-out glam. Might as well live it up while you can, right? Though I picked sassy Gaultier sandals with a much sturdier heel (my practical side popping out there). No breaking an ankle on the red carpet!
12very simple with great earrings that speak for them self, you want to be gorgeous but you don't want your dress interfering with your interviews..

15Like Maria, I decided for a short option as well:

21Could this Versace couture dress be any more fantastic?

24i made three, haha i couldn't help myself there are so many fabulous things out there! This one is fairly traditional, I probably wouldn't wear it myself, but all the things are just so pretty together and i could see this looking good on some tall, thin movie star type girl.
25The next one is more trendy, especially the Marchesa dress which someone else used too!! It's such a current, popular color.
26This is the one I would wear myself if I had a chance to go to the Oscars...but only if I got a tan first! It's pretty different from what everyone always wears but it's still formal. Oh and I've actually tried these shoes on at Intermix and they are super comfy, as far as heels go.
27I figured it out!!!

29I love these posts! I wish I could really attend the Oscars!
