even thou i love elle i think the dress was made for an old lady . i don't think its appropreate for her age

everything is so blah. I hate the dress. It doesn't give her any shape and it just ages her like 30 years! The jewelry looks like something you get from Forever 21 and the hair and makeup are all wrong. She's too young to be wearing that!

I think that it is sweet and very age appropriate and much better then some of the things we have seen her in.

I mean it's simple, stylish and pretty and it looks like something I'd like to wear to any old formal event (because I go to SO many of those ), but it's the Oscars for goodness sake! Go nuts... go out on a limb!! Actually when I saw the Miley Cirus photo I thought that was Ellen, and I was very pleasantly surprised, but this is just so so.

The dress is not exactly the best one but as Megin said, for me that's almost a perfect Ellen Page look. I wasn't waiting for all glammed and colorful. That's Ellen and I appreciate that she's staying true to her own style. She never looks quite comfortable in events where she's all dressed up but I don't think it's the dress choices but the fact that she doesn't feel comfortable in the situation

An 85 year old could wear this and look appropriate. If you don't want to make an effort, go home!

i love it - i think that it suits her. i saw her on the barbara walters special right before and she said that everyone thinks that she's anti-hollywood and that's not the case. i think that she looks glam - without being over the top like a lot of other people are. we forget that she's 21 - and most other celebs at her age go 'balls to the wall' with crazy dresses

I like it ... It's simple and cute. Maybe a little touch of something in the accessory would have been great but that's better than something too crazy and inappropriate.
