These J.Crew Jelly Ballet Flats ($45) take me back to the time when jellies were hot — literally. J.Crew is trying to bring them back as a foul-weather jelly alternative. Would you wear them in rain, or not at all?

Jelly flates for $45-WOW. Jelly shoes use to make ur feet sweat bad and made your feet stink.
1I like them! I dont know about spending $45 for them though, I have some Jellies that cost me like 5 dollars..Its always nice to have some rain-proof shoes
2The year was 1985 ... I remember frat parties where the guys would take off your red jelly pumps and drink beer out of them... then you'd have to walk home with sticky feet...
The rule is "if you wore it the first time, pass it the second time" so I will be passing, but with fond albeit warped memories.
You youngsters can go ahead and enjoy though!
3These have been popping up around here. We have a massive ugly a** shoe trend up here in the North woods and people seem to think they look cool.
I would personally wear these if I had absolutely no choice AND I would have to be up at the cabin which is miles away from civilization so no one would see me.
4I like the color.
5Cute...but I'm not sure If sweaty feet are worth it ...I think I'll pass!
6I saw them in person...they are absolutely adorable! But the whole sweaty feet thing...I'd prolly end up wearing toe socks with them if sweaty feet is the case.
7Hello! Sweaty feet, slippery all of me.
8I've said it before, and I'll say it again...
"Plastic shoes are for strippers and Barbies!"
[I also have one about flip flops]
9those would probably feel so neat on your feet!
10It's cute, but they're none too comfy. Pass
11I like these. They're not like any cheap jellies I usually see (or from back in my childhood) because those all have tons of cut-outs or look like woven plastic. These look really chic. Plus, they have holes in the sides for ventilation.. Not too sure how well that would work but I'd try them nonetheless.
12Cute!
13I think they look awful, they made out of plastic for god's sake!
14Feet get sweaty in these just walking around in nice weather...I can't imagine how gross your feet would get if you tried to wear these in the rain! The open top and low sides=bad news when you mix these with rain and puddles....I'll definitely be passing on these stinkers.
15If they weren't $45 I would. I love my plastic shoes and these look super cute but, they're plastic and there is no reason for them to be $45.
165 year old me would probably wear them.
17kinda boring...if you are going to encase your feet in plastic it should at least be cute!
18I'm sure they would look nice, but...it doesn't look very functional. Like everyone said, your feet are going to stink. Also when it's raining won't the water just drip in and make it even worse?
19I so loved Jellies back in the day! But $45....i dont think so!
20I think that they would make your feet sweat and you would still get wet. $45 is a bit much also
21I never liked them, even as a child jelly shoes looked cheap to me.
22$45 is a tad much, but I do think they're cute. I'd wear them around the house or out to do errands. They're kind of fun.
Jelly shoes were my favorite in the 80s! I must have had a zillion pairs. Haha.
23i like these. they don't look anything like the jellies from the 80's.
24I love love the juicy color...but as a child, i hated the slipping and sliding..and those were just sandals! I can't imagine what kind of hot slippery mess these shoes would be. On a warm sunny day, they would just be hot and unbearable. On a rainy day, at least for me, these would be a embarassing moment just waiting to happen. No thanks! I'll stick to the more conventional ballet flat.
25I love the color, but jellies in Arizona spell be a disaster for your feet, so I will pass. If J. Crew makes a regular flat this color, then I'm all over it.
26I always wanted jellies when I was little and my mom refused to let me wear them.
I thank her for that now.
27very cute but like mentioned in other comments the feet would get kind of sweaty plus if you head to the beach these would get hot fast!
28I think they are cute but yeah the sweat causes stench and you get blisters with shoes like this.
29I wonder how flexible they really are, especially around the edges ...
30i purchased some similar ones at target for $8.99 http://www.target.com/Xhilaration-Georgi-Jelly-Ballet-Flats/dp/B000XZF5L...
31i am going to repeat what a few other people have already said...sweaty & eventually smelly feet. ew.
32otherwise, minus the stink i bet they'd be cute.
I normally hatehatehate jellies, but these aren't that horrible. I still wouldn't wear them, but they're nowhere near as hideous as the normal jelly shoe.
33i wore my fair share of jelly shoes in the 80s and suffered many days of sweatty feet and blisters. I am not at all ready for that to come back again. i do enjoy the little bit of nostalgia.
34No no no! I keep thinking jellies will go away, and I am regularly disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I love a ballet flat as much as the next girl, and the shape of these is adorable, but they really shouldn't be made of rubber! And the smell.. the smell! And $45! Heck no.
35Sweaty and painful. I'll pass.
36No way...
37Well Im probably dating myself but I think they are cute in look; I agree IF they made feet sweaty that would suck... but they take me back to my childhood (mid grade school) when THE thing was leather
Capizzio (sp?) Flats and hey were similar in "look" and came in a GREAT long list of colors. But they were expensive and I had ONE pair...yellow...they were perfect with a spring dress I had.
I like my shoes (pumps, and flats like these) to have the low cut - what they call "toe cleavage" look.
I HATE the high cut Daisy Duck look.
BUT the heel on these look like it wouldn' give you enough cushion and would be very uncomfortable.
They should build that heel up just a bit more.
I LOVE my Crocs, even though they are kind of silly looking - well sometimes I think they are, sometimes I just don't care; those are SO comfortable to wear. The holes prevent too much sweaty and the sole and heel are thick and is like walking on a squishy cloud of softness...I have hot pink; this spring Im getting the light lime green.
Don't think I'll be buying any of THESE but I think they ARE cute, especially for the very young or young at heart. (lucky enough to not hurt wearing shoes that are like walking on the ground with nothing beween you and it. I can't do that anymore. Must have CUSHIONING.
38I hate jelly anything - yuck.
39for the rain? might make my feet cold and wet....
40and those rubber shoes would be too hot in the summer.. so... no real place to wear them...
pass...do they squeek? imagine the wetness and the blisters..eww
41I've seen a lot of jelly flats here in the Philippines. But I'm still undecided about the trend.
42hmm...id only wear them as an alternative to crocs if my life depended on it. but id rather stick to my cute pair of rain boots...
43i used to love my jelly sandals when i was a kid!!!
44not sure how i feel about them now tho
They look painful to wear..
45mmmm NO. I would not wear these.
46been there...done that....when I was like 12. I think I'll pass. And btw ~ aren't jellies suppose to cost like 5 bucks. These are WAY overpriced.
47Hate it. These ones in particular remind me of the rubbers my grandfather use to wear over his dress shoes when the weather was bad... except red.
48I have similar red flats but not as rubbery from H&M...i love them.
49any by rubbery i mean jelly..mine look classier!
