Last night in New York City, the who's who of the fashion community gathered for the announcement of the 2008 CFDA Fashion Awards nominations.
Akin to the fashion Oscars, the actual 2008 CFDA Fashion Awards ceremony will take place at the New York Public Library on June 2, and the nominated designers for the top awards will be judged on both their Spring and Fall 2008 collections.
Without further ado, this year's nominees . . . do you agree with the CFDA's choices?

I approve of their choices. I'm a little surprised Balenciaga is nowhere to be found, as it's been on everyone lately. Has anyone else seen Seamless? It's a documentary on the CFDA awards by the same guy who did Unzipped. Well worth your while for an inside look!
1Phillip Lim anyone?
2Nyara! I was just about to say!! Phillip Lim has been my favourite for the last few seasons, I'm shocked he's not nominated for womenswear. I wonder why there's so few nominees in each category?
3I hope the Mulleavy sisters win. I am over the moon about their designs!
4Michael and Marc, woohoo.
