Jackie O. first put Finnish textile brand Marimekko on the map when she wore their brightly-patterned dresses during JFK's 1960 presidential campaign. H&M decided to honor that tradition by digging into the vibrant Marimekko archives and bringing back the bold retro prints for their Tribute to Marimekko collection, in stores April 10.
Swimsuits, dresses, scarves, tops, and bottoms will all be available in vivid color combos like red and pink, olive and orange, and red and turquoise. Plus, the prices are right: A one-piece swimsuit is marked at $35, and an apron dress goes for $50. Perfect for that island vacation you were thinking about.

1Ugh, I HATE this collection.
2Hmm, not really feeling this as much as I'd hoped. I kinda like the black and white scarf and the one brown and orange tunic/dress thing with the buttons.. other than that though, kind of a disappointment.
3This collection has had so much hype, but unfortunately it's not really my style.

6Actually, I like it...especially when you sight Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and I love H&M. I would probably have to see it in person. It has grown on me (in the few minutes checking it out). Cool, I am not one for "textiles" either

7I love the concept, but unless it is something from a guest designer line (sans Madonna), H&M clothing is just so cheap and poorly made.

9Love Marimeko but am kind of dissapointed of the collection, the colors are bolder which is great but i expected more of the designs.

12I looove Marimekko! Always have. I have found some wonderful vintage pieces that to me are simply timeless. This collection at H&M will sell out quickly here in California. It has that vintage, beach (or desert for me) vibe that works well with tan (or natural brown like me!)skin tones. I certainly like it better than Lilly Pulitzer pink and green! This collection will be more like wearing art!
13The black & white stuff is OK, but my 2 least favorite colors are pink & orange. What a horrible color combo.

18Some of the pieces are cute. These collections always sell out so fast though!
19I'm going to Hawaii in June, and i think that some of these pieces will be going with me!! I really like the pink and orange swimsuit, and the cute little tunics. AND the collection is being released on my birthday! Guess i'll be buying myself some presents!

26I think some of the pieces can be used to punch up a neutral, khaki or black. Too much brights would be overpowering!!
27I like the bright colors and bold prints, but they might look and feel cheap in person (like the Madonna collection). But I have found some super cute things for bargain prices at H&M in the past so definitely worth a look.
28Why isn't anyone as excited as I am? I love bold colors and bold prints!
