I've got some news that may disappoint many: high-waisted jeans are on the rise. I just read something in Women's Wear Daily about it and I'm starting to see them out and about. This may be a jean epidemic for some, and a jean salvation for others. What do you all think about these Blue London High Waisted Jeans, found by jgasia in the Love it or Hate it? group. Love or hate this incoming denim trend?

i hate them because i don't think i can wear them! (without them being super unflattering)
1they would only look good on really tall people.
2They are 100% fug!
3Eew
4I see where they were going with it with the trouser cut and everything but it just doesnt work. Plus the lines down the front are horrible
5I wonder who decided that these pants should be unleashed upon our already suffering world. Haven't we all been through enough?
6haha superjules...i'm with ya! i really dont like these...i'm all for a trouser cut jeanbut these are just wayyy to wide and the ling are hideous...yucky
7lets not relive our MC Hammer days now
8I don't like these jeans in particular but I'm excited that higher waists are coming back. They hold in my love handles MUCH better!
9These are the ugliest things I've ever seen. I hope these don't come into style!
10i don't like these ones.. the "crease" is frightening, and the length, and the cut.. ugh
that being said, i have seen good high waisted jeans and worn correctly it looks amazing!!
i only wish i could wear them, i think i'm too short for it!
11Random I am
12They just dnt seem rite...even though I love the outrageous, weird and wacky fashion this is just ugly
Calling these simply "high-waisted" pants is like calling cat simply a dog that meows. There's SO MUCH MORE going on here and it's going WRONG at 100mph!
13like the waist of the jean, cute cute, but the bottom of the legs are UGLY. I think high waisted jeans would only be cute on really tiny girls with a tucked in blouse........ maaaaaybe.
14Not good.
15That is sick. not the good kind of sick.
16These particular high-waisted jeans are, well, hideous. If the jeans weren't as loose and more flattering and without the crease they would be much better.
17I am no fan of anything that promotes camel toe!
18Kristyna if you get the correct fit camel toe isnt a problem
19the only good thing about this high waist is that it would hide my lovehandles (like whiplashgirl said)... but i think that these might be uglier than the lovehandles themselves! i'd have to see more.
20One benefit to high waisted pants is it can make your legs look longer- and we all want longer legs

22I vaguely remember back in like 1990 SWEARING I would never, ever wear anything but tapered (now called skinny) jeans...so I gues on this one, I'm going to say "Never day never" although I have $1000's wasted on low slung bootcut jeans...Juicy, Citizens, 7's, Hudson, Earnest...it would be sad to see them all go. Waaahhhhhh!!!

23Sorry, something is up with my "S" key...it's sticking
sorry abt the typos
IFF they promise to never add any pleats. I'm glad though, low-rise never fit right on my body. Still, the pants shown are hideous, they could be done a lot better.

cynism- there are trousers out there that are cut a lot better!!!
25It feels like every few months people are saying "low-rise jeans are over! high-waisted is back!", but the fashion never clicks. I think it's been too instilled into our culture that people with hot bodies wear jeans that flash booty and hip fat, and people with big bodies cinch their jeans under their chest. I don't see that trend changing any time soon.
26Minus the wide leg, I had these in middle school. They were called Z. Cavaricci.
She could always tight-roll them.
27I'm of the "never say never" mind, but I'm suspicious of this style. I want to see designers showing the style on petite models. Those wide legs look like bad news for short women.
28Higher waists make legs look longer. Yay! But I have a boxy figure, so I won't be able to wear high-waisted pants. Pants that fit around the waist will be too baggy around the hips for me. I can't wait til we can order cheap, custom-cut, machine-made clothes. (No more slave labor, no more ill-fitting outfits, plus whatever waist length I want!)
29yuck! Fugly! Straight-up Mommy jeans (picturing: untoned, LONG @sses!)
30I'm undecided but only because I think they would look good on someone really tall, but they would look ridiculous on me.
31I'm 6'and scared of these...
**~~Everyone who's anyone has been on sesame street.~~**
32Not attractive. Not even in the least bit. All I can say is EW.
33dig on the high wasted- but not this style (with the wide legs). It doesn't add to the figure, but the right pair could.
34I am not digging the pleats.
35The flared legs are atrocious, but I think that a GOOD CUT high waisted jeans can look cute on some people, aka tall & skinny people
36nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!
::the platypus is proof that god has a sense of humor::
37It looks great on this model but I have 34 ins legs so it would ridiculous on me
38Mom jeans! They are reminiscent of a certain SNL skit that was done. They look like something out of the early 90's and the pleats in the front are just so unflattering, poofy and Mom Jeanish.
39Those jeans are horrible looking, but I'm sure they have better looking high waisted jeans. I think it's a good thing because I'm so tired of getting flashed by every girl's butt crack when they sit down in low waist jeans...lol!
40The pleats wreck the look. I could live with the high waist and the wide band and the trouser cut, but the pleats scream "mom jeans".
41
:rptfl; Mom Jeans OLO!
42I do love the headband the model is wearing
43No thanks.
44mom jeans... that skit on SNL was too funny
I hope everyone knows that just b/c I found these does not mean I like them... they were not a fab find for me... I think they are funny and that is why I put them in Love it or Hate it... the fashionista in me had to clear that up...
45LOL ladies, I'm glad you said Mom Jeans first. I love that SNL skit!
46"uh, not so much" as borat would say. those are gross
47LOL @ lady- i cannot get enough of Borat!... I think i threw out a similar pair a couple years ago- that always happens... Well the ones in the pic are not that cute but when Kate moss wears them they look pretty good.. so maybe they are worth a try, at least a try in the fitting room- i certainly do need something to cover the love handles i acquired over winter break
48I have a short torso. Please, I mean please pray they don't get rid of low waisted jeans. They sit just right on me. I can't handle the waistline being below my bra line. I just can't. And these.....Ugh. I'm channeling Z Cavvarici's.
49i judge the types of clothes i wear by the timelessness i see in the peice. these pants look like they have a timeline of, oh i dunno, a minute?? ;p picture Audrey Hepburn wearing these. That's right. Only women of her calibur can probably pull these off even if it's just a little bit.
