As you know from my earlier post about Fall 2006 fashion trends, I am definitely on the fence about the whole leggings and skinny jeans thing. I am just not sure I can pull off the look. One thing I know I can handle, however, is another Fall trend: tailored wide-legged trousers. Here are a few of my favorites, including designer and non-designer finds:

Yum, yum, yum. I love a good, wide-legged trouser for any day of the week! Anne Taylor, Tristan, and Zara have some pretty decent ones, but the Banana Republic picture doesn't really do their actual merchandise justice. They've got some delicious, super-comfy and very tailorable pants.
1hooray for fashion that makes sense! boo to leggings!
2Yay! Haha, no leggings or skinny jeans for me..glad that isn't all it's about this fall
3Kudos to Fab for putting designer price AND everyday price options out there for us!
4is it just the photographs, or do the cheap versions seem really... well... cheap?
i think maybe FAB is making me covet pricey designer items now...
5Thank Goodness for this. I don't think I can pull off leggings and skinny jeans. I have fat thighs and they'd only make them look even fatter!
Hey MS, haha you're right about the cheap versions looking cheap. I guess you get your money's worth. I don't like the color of the last one.
6great cause I wasn't getting into all the legging trend. I'm loving the styles picture here, they look so dressy. Time to go shopping!
7I don't know who the genius was who tried to bring leggings back, but that was a big mistake. We wore them in the 80's (and early 90's with baby doll dresses) because we didn't know better. Now there is no excuse. ON the other hand...I LOVE wide legged trousers. They look so classic and sophisticated. Another reason to look forward to fall:)
8Aww I love leggings
9you must be a skinny minnie, then!
i'm not sure short girls should do wide legged trousers either...? what do you guys think? i'm like 5'1"...
10mal....i am 5'4 and i love them. I just make sure to wear a nice heel.
11I'm a short girl, too, malibu. You can wear 'em if you've got heels underneath and hips on top.
12Im really short (5'1, but skinny though. They look good on me I think.
13i tried some on from the Gap, and they made my legs look like a stump. Im 5'2. I didnt try them on with heels though.
14ya, seems like heels are the key... i'll give it a shot!
15They look good on me with converse on.
16I think wide leg pants are awesome! They really give your waist a thinner look and after four kids, I'm into that!
17I hate those pants, they look to seventies.
18I hate wide leg! The bagginess makes me feel like my legs are fat. It's either bootleg or skinny for me.
19Okay, I'll admit it: I am way too old for leggings except in the privacy of my own home. Skinny jeans look like a total disaster for me as well. These pants look a little more user friendly for real women.
20Trousers are great for school and work- and you can dress them up with a fancy blouse and heels. I have alot of trouser pants, so I am content they are in fashion!
Live Much.Laugh Often.Love Always ♥
21yes! these look good on almost everyone. plus they are a much easier trend to pull off for those of us who have to look professional - at least some of the time...
22I love pants like that. I have a few pairs already be awhile b4 I can wear em tho
23I like the 2nd pair!! I can see myself wearing those!
24those are way cute!
25I guess I shouldn't complain because they're a lot better than leggings, but if you're a size 14 (like me) wide legs are horribly unflattering. They make me look just as fat as skinny jeans. I prefer a nice happy medium between super skinny and super wide.
26never, ever liked leggings. maybe for a day before they were trendy.
but those wide trousers are sexy if you have the right body.. like tall and thin. :]
27I really prefer the wide trousers except I'm really short and they make me look squat unless I wear really high boots or heels, and then I might kill myself in pain or fall over eventually. As for the leggins and skinny jeans, I have wide hips for a little person, so it would make me look disporportionate. The trick is finding pants that elongate your figure if you're short.
