Are these really the same designers who just debuted a colorful, flirty collection for Target? The dynamo duo behind Proenza Schouler have just proven they can do both mass market and special detailing with their modern flapper Fall 2007 collection.
The swingy, vintagey cocktails dresses are sure to be a hit with young Hollywood starlets, and Fab readers perhaps? Shown in jet black beading as well as jewel tone zig zag pleating, these dresses tickled my fancy. And the white ones with black beading took my breath away. As well, wide legged trousers were luxe and jackets and coats were supremely sophisticated. A cocoon silhouette emerged with an emphasis on the shoulder that narrowed down the body. Fur was a power player here, with fur collars and fur-lined hoods. There was even a super fresh fur coat dress with popcorn knit sleeves.
All of this topped with fuzzy, sweet flapper hats and vivid red lips - très chic!

The black beading on white and the flapperesque dresses stand out.
1I like the way they use texture and different kinds of fabric in a particular color pallette to add interest to what otherwise would be just a simple cocktail dress. Very cool.
2I like the last dress. For the most part pretty good collection.
3Eh. Nothing there that really caught my eye, unfortunately.
4wow, i love them
5I don't like their line for Target. It doesn't stand out at all, IMO.
