a rare miss for eva...she usually has a slightly off-kilter, yet curiously beautiful edge to her. the tulle is just a tad too much - a few less layers, and more oomph at her roots would have been better!

Eva Green is a pretty girl, although you would never know it.

Someone needs to teach her how to do her eyes.

And there is just too much dress for her little self. It might look good on Jennifer Hudson or Queen Latifah but not on a petite person.

she looks goth and washed-out all at the same time. It looks like those trees/flowers were stuffed into the top of her dress. Just awful.. she is very pretty and has such dramatic coloring in her skin/eyes/hair... she could have looked stunning!

Yuck. Even if her hair and makeup were improved, the dress is crap.

She just loves ot be scary! I think she could have pulled this off, even though the top of the dress is a little too tissue-y, if her hair was pulled up neatly as an offset to the dress.

I hate all that tulle wrapped around the top, but Yum, I agree with you. I didn't think she looked so bad on stage, but that may just be because she's looked so bad at some of the various premieres and things I've seen her at.

The other comments say it all: perhaps a bit too haute couture for the land of Freedom Fries. Very Givenchy - the DRESS was gorgeous, loved the gauzy effect. Even the colour was great, although perhaps it would have been better on a different skin tone. Big faux pas was the hair (wrong wrong wrong), too casual/goth; would have been a COMPLETELY different look if it was done up off shoulders (but not as severe as Penelope's) to show off shoulder/neckline detail. Compared to some other dresses (Cameron, Gwyneth) this was a far better dress. Had it not been for the stunning hair and makeup, even Reese's dress would have been deemed a bit tame. Jennifer Hudson's was a Battlestar Gallactica joke. I could go on...

I love Eva, but I hate this look. Sadness.
