I have to admit, we've been anticipating the worst from Heidi's clothing line at Anchor Blue. Her ad is at best mediocre and kind of tacky. I usually like zebra prints but she has a way of making it look tacky and the black shorts are pretty blah. I am, however, glad she decided to not show too much skin in the ad. And, what's up with the bunny wearing bling around his neck?!
Is Heidi's debut collage-style ad freaky or Fab? You tell me.

V.I.K
7 For All Mankind
Lepel
1I saw this ad in my new issue of Lucky magazine and I think it is SO lame. It's beyond cheesy.
2Where is the LAME button
3Yea...no...WEIRD!
4Why does it say "Welcome to Lala land"? Super lame and this is the type of stuff that makes L.A. look really plastic and cheesy to people.
5is this for real? wasnt april fools a week ago????????????????????????
6It looks like an ad for the JC Penny junior's dept.
7Anything she endorses is off my list.
8Beyond tacky and ugly. I cannot believe she bad mouth LC's line. I would not buy any of this crap.
9It's AWFUL!
Is this the best picture of her they could get from the shoot? I mean if there's one thing we know about this girl it's that she's well able to ham it up for the cameras, but she looks SO BORED here! And the angle is terrible. Ugh, it's all too terrible!!
10scary!
11I work in Advertising...this scares me.
12She's just too tacky and skanky for me, I'd never wear anything that she endorses.
13Why do I have a feeling Spencer told her this would be a good idea...
"Yeah, babe, we'll shoot it with a boom box and a home video camera!"
"Yeah, babe, we'll make the ad look like a poorly done tattoo."
Classy.
14Ok, wow way to preface and present an unbiased poll
I dont think this is "at best mediocre" or "tacky". - Its an ad for fun Cali clothes, I think its pretty appropriate.
Also not really sure I can see your point on how she's made the zebra print look tacky, maybe you could elaborate hm?
Animal prints are generally bold in theory, they're not exactly preppy or classical
And "what's up with the bunny wearing bling around his neck"? Well, its a bunny, its cute, its in an ad, since when do fashion ads MAKE SENSE?
15YUCK
16I for one can appreciate the fact that Heidi chose to keep her line affordable, instead of promoting over priced jersey dress knock offs just to have her name attached to something like LC...
She's a fun loving girl who likes attention. Thats what her clothes are reflecting.
What do LC's $200 sacks reflect? Money hungry waste of time.
17tacky, purely tacky.
18With all the other stuff going on in the background, j2e1n9, I can hardly focus on the clothes. It's just too busy and tacky. Kind of like Heidi herself.
19i want that shirt.
20Ick.
21The background is as bold and busy as her zebra top. I don't think it's tacky and I don't like it either. Somewhere in between. I've seen high end designer ads tackier than this.
22welcome to la la land? i just don't think any of it makes sense - wouldn't you also want to put an original outfit/design on your model? black shorts and zebra print doesn't really strike me as unique. wish she would've tried the classier route, not the tacky hollywood boulevard approach - but wishful thinking i guess.
23Sice when does being on a tv show make someone a designer? Just because she is having her 15 minutes of fame right now doesn't mean she has good taste. Just watch the show. She wears clothes that are tacky and out of style. Heidi dropped out of school because she thought the show would boost her career. She has no background in fashion or design, except for that one semester at FIDM.
The ad sucks. She sucks.
24-since- sorry
25Oh, and I agree with jessishaye. I mean, I was wearing zebra print and dressy 'going out' shorts like 2 years ago. And I live in Alabama wear it takes years for fashion trends to catch on, haha. How is this unique and designer??
26j2e1n9, the "art" of wearing animal print is hard to master. there is a very fine line between classy and vulgar.
27-the first thing to look at is the print itself. personally i do not like this particular print. i think the scale is just too big, with too much space between the black and white.
-second is the cut/fabric of the garment. here, the top is a low cut halter neck, which is a bold on its own. i cant tell what kind of fabric it is, but probably some poliester blend of some sort, which also makes it look cheap.
-third is the whole look. if you are wearing a very bold print on a low cut halterneck top, usually it fould be a good idea to tone it down a bit on the bottom. perhaps a simple a line skirt, or trousers? surely not quite short shorts!
-and last, but not least: the person wearing it. heidi is a cute blond girl, but whenever i see her i usually think she looks tacky. she has "tennis ball" breast implants, that are way too big for her petite body.
have i made my point?
slutty. end of discussion.
28So so sad.
29Ew. Ew ew ew. The clothes themselves could look good, but with the completely tacky collage, it's just... ew.
30I think we are referring to HEIDI as being Tacky rather than the ad or the clothes. It's just the fact that she's in it and her stigma brings about all sorts of tackiness and scary weird things that aren't found in nature.
31Ewww....
32Tacky, tacky and retacky!! And affordable is compatible with classy. When you see an ad of Zara, you see affordable and classy clothes but when you see it, you only see trash!
33cheese. say cheese. 100% real cheese.
34I'm pretty sure 'fugly' should be an option here.
35There is a difference between affordable and cheap; this ad screams "cheap!"
36It looks trashy and tacky. Her outfit is not trendy at all. Who is the genius that put this ad look together? Yuck!
37I had to pick "freaky" because it's clearly not "fabulous," but really it's neither. Just trashy, vulgar, and mediocre.
38there is just too much going on in that ad.
39She really is in Lala Land if she thought this looked good.
40Ack! The top has a huge bow on the back. Is she kidding?
http://www.anchorblue.com/index.php
41nothing interesting...doesnt make me want what she's wearing
42I don't particularly care for either of the Hills girls' lines. But I do believe that Lauren has had much more imput into her line. Heidi claims that she knows better cause she was in school for design. Right the same school she dropped out of for a "real" job at a PR agency. (which totally gave her the job because she was on a tv show and therefore could promote their clubs...)She has NO credentials for design (for the record, I don't like the whole celebrity-design thing at all)
43The ad is beyond tacky and she looks awful in it. And as for Lauren's designs being expensive copies, these are just cheap copies of designs that were "in" like five years ago. I had a great aunt that was a seamstress and she always stressed that you should like for quality over price. If it's cheap and cheaply made and won't last, then why spend the money on it. I'm not advocating exorbitant prices here, but I think her stuff is so cheap, it'll break apart at the seams too fast to even be considered a bargain. I'd expect no less from her...
BTW, for those who are confused, Lalaland = LA, Los Angeles, California
44Very YM circa 1998. Shame on you, Heidi.
45I don't like it.
46Oh Heidi....
47I'd just go with "boring"
48Neither. It's Fugly
49i agree that it looks tacky. but i think that is the look she was going for. lets not forget, heidi has never been a trendsetter.
