Have you ever worn a pair of fierce heels but was scared you'd slip and fall? Been there, actually done that (and have the scar to prove it). It's not fun slipping around while struttin' your stuff. Check Miley Cyrus posing confident at the 2008 Kids' Choice Awards. You'd never know she has on a pair of Grippy Steps by Apara ($8), to keep her heels from sliding in the wrong direction. These sticky contractions simply stick to the bottom of your soles and prevent any awkward moments from happening. Now that's a quick fix!

I've had to buy something similar before from Aldo.
1I use these ... they are AMAZING
2Have I said how much I LOVE that dress yet?
3I have these on the bottoms of my cowboy boots because they sent me flying across the carpet when I first put them on.
4good to know
5I'll have to get some of these for the wedding I'm in this summer...
6thanks! good find. you can also find a cheaper but good alternative to those are payless shoe source. its $1.50 but its a great deal when they have the buy one get one free sale! i usually stock up on them and put it on all my shoes. a girl can never be too ready!
7Ooh I like those. I also love Miley's dress and shoes.
8You could always use sandpaper on the bottom of the shoes... It's cheaper - doesn't look as nice, but over time your shoes will get like that anyway. It just speeds up the process.
9ohmy gosh, thats actually so clever!
10i need those, seriously.
wow , this is great.
11Oooh! Love it and her shoes.
12I use these, but only when I'm wearing heels over 4 inches long.
13I'm going to have to pick some of these up...
14LOVE these. They also make all sorts of shapes for inside your shoes...i.e., back of the heel, strap-shaped to keep strappy shoes from slipping, etc. They are fantastic! DSW usually carries them.
15OH come to me in the winter snow storm time!
16I never knew about this. Great find, thanks!
17If the bottoms of my shoes are smooth in the last, I slip and fall no matter what! I buy a pair of these (just the kind at Walgreens) every time I buy a new pair of shoes.
18funny never knew this thing
19exist, I've used but duck tape
in the bottom too, I've seen
to work pretty good.
A much cheaper alternative is available at any hardware store. Go get the 3M tape that people use to stick on ladders and outdoors steps to give them traction. It's kind of like black sandpaper, but it comes on a roll with adhesive on the back. You can cut the tape to conform to any part of your shoe, which is nice, and it works wonders. My dad used to put this on the bottoms of my dress shoes when I was a little girl.
Why do shoe companies think we don't need traction?
