What? Can this be true? It is being said that Nina Garcia, fashion director of Elle, may have parted ways with the magazine. Rumors began brewing when Joe Zee was hired as creative director at the beginning of 2007, but speculations heated up even more when Nina was missing from an Elle-hosted event celebrating Simon Doonan's new book, Eccentric Glamor: Creating an Insanely More Fashionable You on Tuesday. Nina has yet to comment on the story but what a bummer if it's true. I'll keep you posted . . .

If it's true, I wonder what her next move would be? I sure hopes she stays with Project Runway!
1What? If its true I agree with wren and hopes she stays with Project Runway.
2I hope this is true, so I can have her job.
3I can't imagine that a dozen other mags wouldn't be tickled to pick her up if the rumors are true. Nina Garcia has a media presence and a mainstream "brand awareness" now, after PR, that lots of editors would kill for.
4I just wonder how Elle mag will change. Will Project Runway not have their features in Elle any longer? Will they have them in a new mag? Will she no longer be on Project Runway?
5I think this is a big rumor. Nina is fashion director. I think creative director is a different position. And just because she missed an event doesn't really mean anything. She could have been sick or something. At least I hope it's not true. I like Nina!
6she still has project runway
7I hope this isn't true; I love her articles in Elle. At least she'll be on Project Runway and I can always read her book (which I love! It has so many interesting pieces & filled with many quotes.)
8I hope it's not true but could that be part of the reason why she wasn't mentioned in the deal with Lifetime for Project Runway's move? Regardless, I hope she is still with Elle and everyone is all together on the new season of Project Runway on Bravo.
9no...! Elle wouldn't be the same with out her or Project Runway.. hope it's not true
10What!?
11I hope not!
I don't think she'll stay on project runway. The main reason she was there was as the voice of the editor of Elle magazine where the winner was featured. If the winner still goes in Elle, why would Elle want someone who they fired making decisions about editoral content? And secondly if the winner is featured in another fashion publication, why would they want someone so prominently attached to a rival publication making decisions about their editoral content? Nina just had a baby maybe she'll hang out with the baby.
12I've seen her in person and she was stunning. Tiny, tiny, with the most amazing blowout, and a great presence.
13I really don't like Elle anyway. It's a little too boring for me.
14I second that, Elle kind of sucks anyway. Whooo cares.
15ps - Nina just had a baby?? Isn't she a little old?
16I love Nina, and I love Elle and I love Project Runway...
17I hope this is just a rumor.
Or...can I have her job please?
I don't like her anyway...
18Dun dun dun...
19has this been confirmed? i actually love nina! and elle! much more wearable and young fashion in comparison to vogue...plus they featured clothes in all prices ranges rather than just couture
