As you know, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's contemporary line, The Row, is named after the famous Savile Row of London, a shopping street in central London known for its custom-made tailoring. If you're curious as to why the twins were intrigued by that particular district, then pick up The London Cut: Savile Row Bespoke Tailoring by James Sherwood ($17). It presents both the style and story of a street that continues to inspire fashion today. Icons of Savile Row's past include Cary Grant and John Lennon, and Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen were both trained there.

Savile Row is a really amazing place. Look up some videos on you tube the whole street is alive with a sense of old fashion history and luxury although the designs are bang up to date. Well worth a visit if you go to London.
