I told you I would keep you updated on the Nina Garcia/Elle drama so here it goes.
The latest word is that the magazine has offered Nina a temporary — around six months — contributing editor's role, long enough for her to appear on Season Five of Project Runway. She has yet to accept the offer or comment on the recent ongoings. The show's producer, The Weinstein Co., is currently in talks to bring Nina, Michael Kors, Elle, and other partners back for a sixth season. It remains to be seen if the show would rehire Nina if the magazine is still involved and she is no longer employed there. Interesting stuff, but what I really want to know is where Nina will be headed next?!

Note to Elle: I love Elle, but I think I would follow Nina wherever she goes.
1Elle definitely screwed this one up. Nina will have no problem finding another gig.
2Interesting!
3What is so great about Nina Garcia? I don't get it, Fab.

5this breakup between Elle and Nina is getting really ugly. A recent article I had read said that she would have been fired years ago if it weren't for Project Runway. Poor Nina is looking to make her accomplishments at Elle known since the magazine seems to be so focused on the lack of work she did for them. Elle became so much more popular from Nina being on Project Runway and I think they should be more grateful to Nina for that.
6I agree with KimBurnett,,, what is so great about Nina? I do like her on PR but maybe the show needs new blood.
7Poor Nina...
8I hear that the negative press on La Nina has to do with the fact the Creative Director (Joe Zee) hired his boyfriend to be Editor of ELLE.COM with no relevant experience (he worked as a salesman on the floor of some retail store) and the people at ELLE.COM are flooding the blogs with a lot of negative stories. Pretty weak and wonder how the EIC would allow that type of conduct. Also hear the Senior Editors are furious at the new reality show to pick an assistant for JZ as the guest judges keep canceling and the editors have to ruin their weekend to come in and judge some ridiculous challenge! Morale at ELLE is low, low, low. More departures coming.
