At the beginning of the show all was more realistic - Jenny wearing clothes that she has sewn herself.
And now? Hello, wearing Valentino coat and bag!
How can she possibly afford it?!

Hello people, she gets the clothes as hand-me-downs. Don't you remember Blair screaming that Jenny wore her hand-me-downs and now she thought she was better than her? It was in the episode of Blair's dethronement. Blair most likely gave her a lot of the stuff she's worn.
Suspend reality for a moment too. It's a television show, much like Sex and the City was. It isn't supposed to be real life, it's supposed to be entertainment. Much of the fashions are not meant to be bought off the rack, but copied. And I guarantee that a lot of private school girls on the Upper East Side from lots of money dress similarly (the costumers even apparently staked out the private schools in the city to get ideas) If you want real life, watch reality television.

She probly wears something then returns it or something. Or like in the vintage store she will exchange items over and over again for other ones.

I love the style. I love the show. I love it all.

As a former Catholic schoolgirl, you do whatever you can to stand out in your uniform. While I didn't have the $$ to wear a Valentino trench coat, I can appreciate the colorful twist they give their looks

I think I watch this show 70% for the outfits.

AHHHH, I didn't remember that "hand-me-downs" thing.... oh, and I agree with Ekatherina: they're 14, filthy rich and are having fun that's why the outfits are crazy and cute...
Serena and Blair's are a bit more down to earth simply because they're older and let's face it, they're much more stylish than us all when we were 14!!!

Ok!! What was Serena wearing in this episode when she was making out with Dan on the bed.... thats the bigger question. I dont want to wear that much color and look like a 14 year old going to Marquee

Jenny gets handme downs from Blair, but shouldn't she start wearing clothes that aren't as great looking now that Blair doesn't like her. And by the way I think Jenny is the only one who is 14 and the other girls are all juniors. By the way I love the socks J is wearing in that picture.
