Claire Danes has quite the tough act to follow. It was announced today that she is replacing Drew Barrymore, who was Gucci's first ever celebrity campaign face, as the Gucci Fine Jewelry girl.
Drew's ads were stunning, and hopefully Claire's will be just as iconic — she's being photographed by the same duo as Drew — Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
As for the reasoning behind the choice, Gucci's designer Frida Giannini explains: "Claire's sensual, confident beauty and her passionate, independent, and strong character embodies today's Gucci woman." The ads are set to debut this Fall.

She looks really pretty here, which is not something I thought I'd ever say!
1Oh, I think Claire is a great choice! I'm really looking forward to seeing her pics. They'll be gorgeous!
2It's no like she's doing anything else lately.
3I used to LOVE Claire Danes in the mid to late 90s...I'm just lukewarm about her now.
4What a horrible choice!
5Love Drew, can't stand Claire!
She annoys me.
6Neat.
7claire's hair does look amazing in that photo.
8She looks great but has she done anything lately that would make her an appropriate choice?
9She soo annouying..and is about as interesting as a Raisin
10I going to be nice and not even start talking about her looks...Isn't she like 40? lol
I don't think Drew's photos were even midly appealing, and I have no doubt that Claire's will fall under the same category.
11Bad choice. Why don´t they choose a REAL MODEL??
12I think her skeletal appearance is gross and there is no way she could own up to Drew. Claire looks like a 50 year old trying to look 30 (in this pic). If she put on some weight she would probably look very healthy and pretty, but I wouldn't buy any jewelry based on her as the spokesperson.
