This Hollywood Dreams editorial in April's Flair magazine makes me want to pack up and head South to where the sun do shine. It doesn't hurt that it features one of the naturally sexiest models out there, Flavia Oliveira. I'm not endorsing smoking (I promise, Fit!), but doesn't she look way cool with those Nat Sherman rainbow cigarettes? I suppose it would have been fine to use regular white smokes, but the fact that they're pink, green, and super skinny makes it more fashiony. I know you once said smoking in editorials is not fashionable, but are colorful cigarettes freaky or fabulous?

I love it!
1Honestly I'm disgusted. Why do we continue to glamorize smoking? And seriously what is the target demographic for colored cigarettes, seems like something a pre-teen might be into...
2I don't care if you put rhinestones on them it's still disgusting.
3Gross
4I don't think they're Freaky, but smoking is not Fabulous, whatever the cigs look like.
5PERSONALY, Smoking doesn't bother me at all. If you want smoke, smoke, if you don't, don't. These coloured ones are pretty badass for a photo shoot if you're going to involve smoking at all.
6I agree with Infamouspopee...thats disturbing and disgusting.
7I wouldn't mind smoking either if it wasn't proven that second-hand smoke kills...
I just think this is in bad taste. But whatev.
8it's very creative. next, they're going to put cartoons or patterns on them.
9cool
10ehhhh i really don't know..
11anything to do with cigarettes is a big fat FREAKY to me!
12*sigh*
13i've been thru quite a bit with my husband and his smoking/quitting/smoking/quitting
so i've just about had it with cigarettes
i dont like these
"oh look kids, colorful pretty cigarettes"
So many people smoke in the fashion industry -- including models. And I think the target demographic is me because I was wondering where I could pick up a pack of those.
14how many more chemicals can we add to a cigarette to change their color!
15absolute marketing to the younger generation!
Not freaky but horrible! Way to help make smoking acceptable, by making colorful cigarettes that can match your outfit. Cigarettes are not an accessory. I dated a guy for three years who was a pack a day smoker, so I have pretty strong feelings on the matter.
16Georgetown has the pink cigarettes...I think they're called "Pink" and the box is glittered. Haha. I had to buy a pack just to say I had pink cigarettes.
17Nothing pretty or colorful about smoking! I guess except for the yellow teeth it gives ya!! LoL!!
18These ads have a cool '60s French girl vibe to them.
Yes, smoking is a bad habit, but seeing them in ads don't really affect me one way or the other.
19I have to admit I voted fabulous only because of how it looks. I still don't smoke and hate cigarettes though.
20The color of the cigs isn't the real issue although it's "great" marketing for young girls! X(
My issue is why are they highlighting smoking in a fashion style spread, we all know that smoking can potentially cause some life threatening illnesses why promote it anymore than it is already promoted.
SHAME SHAME!
21why are you talking about cigarettes? shouldn't it be about the clothes? I see better things in that shoot than the colored cigs!
22THIS IS NOT NEW.....NAT SHERMAN HAS HAD THESE FOR DECADES
23ewwwwwwwww cigar smokers are nasty
24hell no.
25What?! Are you guys crazy?!?! Smoking cigarettes made of diamonds and pearls isn't even cool- don't you get it? Hell to the NaW!!!!!!!
26Nat Sherman Fantasias... they've had those forever. Use to sometimes buy them in the mid-90s.
That said, using cigarettes in a fashion ad is no different using heroin needles or crack pipes. From the cut of the clothes I'd guess they were shooting for a 1960s jet set vibe where everyone and their cousin smoked, but again, it's like throwing in a needle and a tourniquet into ads for clothes from the mid-1990s. You can evoke an era and a style without glamourizing it's vices.
27I actually think the cigarettes go with the 1960's feel of the photo...which sort of makes it fabulous.
But the glamorization of cigarettes is just FLABBERGASTING. There's nothing fabulous about something that has the high possibility of killing you...that's just freaky.
28Freaky.
I am strongly against smoking. While the cigarette may make the photo more interesting; this is why women go out and smoke one, because it's considered fashionable. Really?
29So... cancer, yellow teeth, raspy voice, age spots, wrinkles, loss of firm skin and smokers breath is fashionable... I'll pass on this lasting trend.
Why are we still glamorizing smoking? It kills people or at the very least, negatively affects your health. Ugh.
30Freaky! It doesn't matter what color a cigarette is, it's still a cigarette!
31Nothing about smoking is fabulous, why don't you show some other colors......black lungs perhaps?
32I said freaky cause smoking is bad for you...
33but I have to admit that they look fabulous
whatever. if you smoke you smoke, if you don't whatever its your life, but even thou i smoke socialy i think is a bad idea for young teenage girls to think that they should smoke because a model looks cool. am not saying the model doesn't look good but it promotes a bad role model for girls.
34a. She is too skinny and unsexy and b. smoking (no matter how colorful) is extremely unfabulous.
35it doesnt matter, they are gross either way!!
36I think it's cool!
(And, contrary to my icon, I do not smoke. I was just fooling around one night with the camera and grabbed my friend's cigarette.)
37well they aren't any different than other cigarettes. i guess if you want to shell out the extra 2 bucks just to have your cigs match your outfit, they're pretty cool.
and don't even tell me you anti-smokers don't do anything unhealthy.
38Ugh. Is that how simple and easily misguided we are? Put some color on them and suddenly we're all like, "OoOOoh! Look at da pwitty colors!!11!". Please.
At first glance I had hoped this post was satirical.
39Smoking is disgusting. And leahtron a lot of things are unhealthy but not as blatantly obvious as cigarettes. Walking into traffic will most likely kill us so we don't do it. Why people continue to smoke confuses me and don't try to tell me I wouldn't understand because I used to smoke and quit successfully with Chantix.
40From an artistic point of you the photos are bad, but I see where everyone is coming from because I can't stand it when people smoke around me. I can't stand to watch someone kill themself before my eyes, its horrible. And by the way the model looks way too skinny in that second photo.
41i hate smoking, but this is fabulously freaky. i like it.
42The photos would still look fab even without the ciggies. They were unnecessary.
43i love everything about that shoot
44i hate cigarettes!!!!
45Cigs are so gross. Coloring them doesn't tale away from that.
46these are fab no matter what anyone else says
47Actually they have cartoon cigs, in japan, flavoured ones too, a friend of mine bought orange flavoured with cute animals on them, yah ok its a gross habit, but still, whatever lol
48I agree as well with infamouspoppee and the others who think this is just a bad idea. stop glamorizing it and stop using it as a fashion accessory.
49Why are they always trying to make cigarettes cooler? This is just another plan for us to try this, get addicted, and die of lung cancer. I don't know about you but I'll pass. There is nothing fabulous about having black lungs.
