I think that if she had done just the dress it would have been fine, but with the blue shoes the look is killed.

the color of the dress compliments her skin tone amazingly.. but the shininess doesn't do it for me.. and the length is ALL WRONG! not only should it be longer to make the dress more elegant, but that length would have covered up those shoes... totally wrong wrong wrong

what I really want to see is tom's shoes... he must have brought out his special occasion platforms to look that much taller than a high-heel clad katie

I think she has gone for a red/blue/yellow superman theme with her outfit, which i think is really great, but everything is just wrong. The hair and necklace don't go well. I think the red dree and blue shoes could have worked, but she should have tried a different style dress, maybe used yellow shoes and a blue purse

I actually like the color but the sequins and the cut doesn't work. Plus that hair is covering her pretty face!

I am so disappointed that everyone hates this! I think it's fashion forward and interesting and kudos to Kate for being daring! Especially at a fashion-oriented event! Come on people!!!

I always found her a bit annoying, but couldn't deny that she is quite beautiful now that she gets all dressed up all the time, and that she always makes very chic fashion choices. But this is a disaster. I'm trying to figure out how to make that dress work in my head (maybe if there were less of it? Shorter? Asymmetrical hemline?) but it just doesn't. I think it's the sequins. If it were solid, shorter and on someone with muuch lighter skin (what is up with that crazy tan???), then maaaaaybe it could work? If her skin was paler (nicole kidman-ish) then maybe even the blue shoes might work! Plus her makeup is awful and her hair does look like a helmet. Too bad.

I know I'm in the minority, but I actually like this dress. I think it looks horrible with those shoes though. And I don't care for her necklace.
