Gap will be unveiling a limited edition artist t-shirt collection set to launch in select stores and online May 15th. In celebration of the 2008 Whitney Biennial, Gap has joined forces with top contemporary artists in producing limited edition artist tees. Some artists include Chuck Close, Jeff Koons, Marilyn Minter, and Kiki Smith with t-shirt designs ranging from political messages to colorful abstract confections. I especially like the bright burst on the Glenn Ligon tee. The classically Gap ad campaign was shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin — Fab, as usual. Something to look forward to!

N゚mph
Reminds me of UNIQLO's move. Can't wait to see this range.
1Not appealing to me at all...
2I love this idea!
3Meh ... looks pretentious and definitely not appealing to me. I actually like Uniqlo's better.
4Not interested in this at all.
5I love the Chuck Close tee.
6Shouldn't one of those shirts read, "The Days of This Society ARE Numbered?"
Not right, I tells ya!
7Totally agree, that is really bad grammar!!!
8It should be ARE, does no one see these things before printing? I don't care if its art, I could never walk around with bad grammar on my clothing.
