When my friends visited me in NYC a few summers ago, when I still lived there, there was one thing they requested be on our itinerary: the Sex and the City bus tour. It's really the best way to experience the sights and stores that Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda did for ten years. A few things have been tweaked since my tour — like visiting Patricia Field's boutique on Bowery Street — but you still get cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery (delish!), sit on Carrie's stoop, and drink cosmos at a bar used on the show. There's much more than that so if you're ever in NYC for more than 4 hours, be sure to put this on your schedule.

1My friend did this and said it was really fun. I've had cupcakes at Magnolia before. They are AMAZING.
2I took the tour when I was there four years ago. It was so much fun because you get to see great NYC spots as well as all the SATC locations. I want a cupcake right now!!

6I just checked the website, the price is 42 dollars per ticket. However, if you get the current issue of Entertainment Weekly, it covers a lot of the spots covered on the tour bus so you really could do the tour thing on your own!
7I accidentaly did my own SATC tour when I went in Jan. I think the fact that it was accidental made it even more fun for me because I was enjoying NY and it was like added bonus!!FYI the cafeteria (the restaurant is so yummy & great drinks also try the banana bread pudding at magnolia waaaayyy better than the cupcakes oh and my fav bookstore is right across the street!)

13I did this in January, when I was in New York (from South Africa). It was super fantastic, the highlight of my drip! The cupcakes totally lived up to expectations

17not sure what the obsession is with Magnolia's cupcakes. Not good at all. It's totally hyped up because of the show.
There are several bakeries with better cupcakes in the City.

20You can do this tour on your own.. its much more fun going at your own pace.. Magnolia Bakery is OVERRATED!! It also had heath code violations at one time. Me and my friend went it was crowded and hot inside very small and dumpy looking. The cupcakes tasted stale and we ended up throwing them away. If you want good cupcaqkes try CRUMBS, or if you can get your butt to LA go to SPRINKLES which is by far the best!!! I can't wait til they come to NYC!
Also you can hit barneys, Bergdorf, Manolo, Jimmy Choo.. all of that on your own. And the places they hung out in years ago are no longer cool. Wait til u see the movie then go find the places yourself save the 40 bucks and go buy some drinks!
