The creator of Spanx, Sara Blakely, is continuing her streak of genius with a new line of shapewear called Assets by Sara Blakely ($10-$20).
Take your pick from the unbelievable underwear (left), which sucks in bulges; the sensational shaper, which minimizes your waistline; and the fabulous footless, which makes you look slimmer in the thigh area. As far as I'm concerned, any product that makes me look more streamlined is A-OK!

how are these different from regular spanx?
1They are sold exclusively at Target, so they're cheaper, and I think the fabric content is slightly different.
2These aren't really new... I've been using them for a while. I love them! They're a great alternative to Spanx, if you don't want to spend the money, and they fit really well. I have a long torso and shorter legs and they still fit great!
3I'm not too happy with these or with spanx. I need tummy shaping and I find the high waist stuff all sags down and becomes uncomfortable.
4I've been using them for a while too...recently I wore it under my bridesmaids dress for a wedding and it helps smooth everything out! I don't think they stay as nice as Spanx do after a few washings...but they are a lot cheaper!
5They're great. You just have to hope you don't score while you're out
6These aren't new, they've been selling them at Target for at least a couple of years. They're not the exact same thing as Spanx, but similar enough to be a replacement, and significantly cheaper! They're awesome!!
7I was beyond disappointed with my Assets shapewear. When I saw them at Target I was so excited to try... thinking they'd be at least a little like my spanx........
8They are not even close to the quality, fit, construction or material of Spanx. The material is terrible, sort of like wearing two or three pairs of extra thick panty hose that have been washed and dried and worn and slept in 30 times; kind of pilly or snaggy.. They do not provide any shaping or slimming or even support and since the fabric is so cheap, your clothes would just cling and hug your body precisely where you needed smoothing and shaping in the first place.
Assets are grossly over priced for the crap product they are. Sure, compared to the price of Assets garbage shapewear, Spanx can be expensive... However, the quality absolutely matches the cost. In fact, Spanx are actually a pretty good deal for decent shapewear.
