It makes perfect sense to wear lace-up booties in the Winter; it's aberrant in the beginnings of Summer. It's no secret global warming is in full effect and it's throwing off designers and retailers alike. As for us shoppers, I say, the more we can wear our favorite things, the better.
While everyone else was wearing open toe sandals and platforms — the us(ual) — at the MTV Movie Awards, Sarah Jessica Parker was a witchy woman in her white lace up Christian Louboutin boots and L'Wren Scott dress.
Hot tip: Hike up that hemline and let your gams do the talking, it is Summer after all.

I hate shoes like these, they're wrong in any season.

5I think its a wee old-fashioned rule stuck in my head but I cannot stand white shoes with black dresses, regardless of the style, the shape, the season, the colour, or anything.
I think this "idea" could work nicely but I would have gone with a darker boot and a sexy partially open look..either the heel, or toe.
The problem with cute little pointy boots is if you are not very careful, you go from "subtly bad girl" to "Hey everybody! Its Stevie Nicks!"..right on over to "Channeling Mary Poppins" if you really blow it.
I love these boots in black...(not white, nothing will make me like them in white)......in very specific situations and with very specific outfits but I was not keen on this look.

7I freaking love this look. Would I do it myself? Well that's another question. But I've seen pics of this outfit like 800 times and I like it every time, from every angle.

9I love the outfit! I really can't stand when people say, "well theirs a fashion rule..." the whole point of being an individual is to BREAK those rules. everyone would dress alike if people followed the rules. I think SJP pulls it off amazing! It's the confidence in a person which makes the outfit work.
