Paris is so boring with it's style... It is simple and classic yes.. but it's also black and bland! No offense to the city.. I do love Paris... but I love a little color and scruffiness in my
style!
I haven't been to NYC though, and I think it would be a good contender for the top spot. But I think that, much like London, it's such a melting pot of international cultures - how could it
NOT be stylish? People in London are super cool, but a lot of them are from all over the world.
British Vogue > American Vogue, though.
Also, I love Italian simplicity and I think Italians are of the most stylish people in the world (think Miuccia Prada, beautiful) - but I find a lot of the girls in Milan to be a bit off
style wise. Sometimes a bit too gaudy and Italian trashy (too much gold and leather?). Ha ha, I don't know how to explain it! Donatella Versace would be a good example.
Honestly, Europe.
Anywhere!
When I was there, it brought the clothes lover out in me (and I thought I was one before!). It's crazy all the fashion, I loved people watching...
Paris--I'm a New Yorker but I love how effortless Parisian style is. My style is very similar and some of my favorite style icons are French: Lou Doillon and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Having lived in London, I've never been taken by their style. I always kinda laugh when they claim to be at the forefront of fashion. I'm sorry but I give the edge to Paris or New York. Paris
for being so effortless and New York for being so incredibly stylishly diverse.
Well I have only been to New York and California, so I cant really tell you since I am still missing the rest. Anyway every place is different so different styles are expected in them, just
like architecture.
NYC is always great but i gotta love London too. I feel those two cities are great cause you can wear anything you want and there is always someone dressed stragner thatn you! so it inspires
a lot of creativity
Yeah HipMom i wasn't saying that's how the women there dress, I was just implying that a lot of Italian women have that kind of over-the-top tacky style. But you can say that for anywhere in
the world, I suppose.
Buenos Aires! I've been there several times and people are sophisticated, ALWAYS elegant and stylish, they follow the fashion, plus it's fresh and not boring like French fashion...
Oops, to add to my comments, most of my style icons are French. I love the style there and I'm using blog pictures as inspiration for how to put outfits together. Now if only I could have
some of their great coats and shoes.
Great array of colours, styles and tradition co-existing with the surge of modern inspiration.
The Indian ladies look soooooo elegant and graceful in thier tradional saris, and they accessorize with bangles, earrings and ankets - the sea colours somehow don't overwhelm each other, the
entire ensemble blend together to create a wonderful walking exotic picture.
I don't think Paris is tops for style---yea they're the most fashionable people on earth. But they are dominated by trends too and what's on the runway. They have a sense of elegance and
chic-ness.
Only a few New Yorkers are really stylish, you can count 1 in every 30 people in there . (I lived in NYC for more than 5 years)
Tokyo is tops for style---style means more than fashion. They unbelievably can transform any garb or piece of cloth into their own personal style that translates "unpredictability, creativity
and dynamism".
I'm carioca (for who don't know: person from Rio de Janeiro), but I don't like the style here. I mean, is too laid-back! people wear havaianas' flip flops everywhere, looks like everyone is
always coming from beach or try to look like a surfer and when you dress differently, people look you like you're an alien... It makes me sick!!
even thought it's low in votes, I had to give a shout out to my home state of Cali! we are more than just jeans and t-shirts and juicy couture sweatsuits.
I've never been to Milan or Rio, but of all the other places it's Tokyo that takes the prize, with London running a close second. I live in Tokyo so I might be a little biased, but people
here -- both women AND men -- don't hold back when it comes to fashion. Americans have a tendency to look unfinished because people are so afraid of looking "overdone" or like they're "trying
too hard." I just went to Paris and while people were generally well put together, it seemed quite conservative. But London has some really amazing and innovative fashion.
Tokyo's all about color, pattern, and texture. Layering has been a huge trend here for years and the Japanese are experts at putting together unlikely combinations and making it work. Even
with the popularity of Western-style suits, the Japanese won't give up the traditional love of color. The loveliest thing is "coming of age day" when the girls who've just reached adulthood
go out in beautiful kimonos. They're like gorgeous winter flowers, just stunning to see.
I've been to all those places, except Rio, and the young people in Milan & Florence are fanatical about fashion. They all look like they just stepped out of a magazine.
Tokyo's kids are also very stylish, but the fads they parade around in the harajuku area are not exactly things you'd see in an American or European glossy.
New Yorkers have their own cool way of dressing that is stylish without being in your face. They're kind of low-key and cool.
Londoners are pretty similar to New Yorkers, though the guys are a little more stylish than the women in many respects (my opinion), esp with their hair. I think it's a Becks thing.
Wealthy Parisians are the only ones who strike me as being super stylish. Everyone else is pretty standard-edition European streetwear.
Californians are...well, we just follow the stupid mall A&F trends. I've lived in both LA and the SF Bay area for the past 13 years. Individuality exists in pockets (eg. Berkeley, SOMA,
WeHo, etc).
Buenos Aires, Argentina. Everyone looks polished and effortlessly put together. No one stresses over designer bags and everyone has their own individual style.

Rachel Zoe was photographed walking down Robertson, Starbucks in hand, looking ready for some serious shopping. She looked chic in her round sunglasses and Chanel bag, which she wore with of-the-moment thigh-high boots, a denim Current/Elliott biker jacket, and printed scarf.
I don't know about Rio... Do they really wear clothes there?!? I'd say Paris from my experience. It's always simple, classy and right on spot.
1Paris although I would also say London.
2Paris is so boring with it's style... It is simple and classic yes.. but it's also black and bland! No offense to the city.. I do love Paris... but I love a little color and scruffiness in my style!
Got to be New York...
3Paris, without a doubt.

4I've been to Paris several times and was never that impressed with the style on the streets. I'm going to have to go with New York.
5Paris / NYC - it's a win/win situation either way!
6You can't get better than a French's women's ease of style.
7Paris, bien sur!
8London, London, London!
9Paris, as I recall (it's been awhile since I went there).
Although I also LOVE how innovative and daring Japanese style as well. Paris is completely classic, chic while Japan is just daring and modern...
I've never been to NYC so I don't know about that one.
10Hmmmm I'd go with a mix of NYC and Cali. I have to...
11NYC!
12Paris!
13London does. NYC is second.
14Donatella Versace is hardly the norm of how women dress in Italy - she's a bit on the cheesy side, what with the fake tan and all.
15Honestly, Europe.
16Anywhere!
When I was there, it brought the clothes lover out in me (and I thought I was one before!). It's crazy all the fashion, I loved people watching...
Paris — Chic, chic, and more chic.
17Paris--I'm a New Yorker but I love how effortless Parisian style is. My style is very similar and some of my favorite style icons are French: Lou Doillon and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

21NYC baby!

25I've seen good street style from different places, but my favorite is Paris.
26Oops, to add to my comments, most of my style icons are French. I love the style there and I'm using blog pictures as inspiration for how to put outfits together. Now if only I could have some of their great coats and shoes.
27im a nyc girl so i had to say it but i can live with coming in second to paris
28New York.
29Yes, Finnlover, people do wear clothes in Rio, surprinsingly enough.
30India.
Great array of colours, styles and tradition co-existing with the surge of modern inspiration.
The Indian ladies look soooooo elegant and graceful in thier tradional saris, and they accessorize with bangles, earrings and ankets - the sea colours somehow don't overwhelm each other, the entire ensemble blend together to create a wonderful walking exotic picture.
My vote to India!

32"I don't know about Rio... Do they really wear clothes there?!? "
33Sorry but that is very ignorant! Brazillian womens have a great style....
*women*
34Paris for sure. NYC is a close runner-up, but many Parisian women and men have an understated look all their own.
35I'm carioca (for who don't know: person from Rio de Janeiro), but I don't like the style here. 39I'm from New York, so I have to go with NYC. I haven't been to those other places, but I assume Paris and Tokyo are also stylist.
40would have to be tokyo!!!!
41Paris with NYC as a close second.

Personal opinion, of course...
43i think new york, because it's a mix of all these places. it's so international, diverse, you can find everything there.
44Buenos Aires, Argentina. Everyone looks polished and effortlessly put together. No one stresses over designer bags and everyone has their own individual style.
45NYC or London
46MIAMI OR NYC OR LONDON
47i voted TOKYO, cause i luv luv their use of bright colors, they just got this unique vibe goin on with fashion
48Paris !!!
49NYC, baby!
50(just cause I'm there more often than Paris).
