If you've seen the Sex and the City movie, you know that Cynthia Nixon's character, Miranda Hobbes, was leaps and bounds more stylish in the flick than she was in the show. Perhaps age made her fashion-wise or maybe Carrie's flair for style rubbed off on her. Either way, she left behind the pinstripe suits and busted out the chunky earrings, colorful frocks, and stilettos.
Fans will be thrilled to know that back by popular demand is the inexpensive Maggy London dress Miranda wore in one of the first scenes of the movie; she wore it with an Alexander McQueen bag, Gucci pumps and a vintage belt. Many of you expressed interest in the silky, mod dress and now it's yours.
That dress isn't for me, but I agree that she looks infinite times better than she did on the show...
1Watching the movie, I did comment to myself on Miranda's much improved style. She was never that fly in the actual show.
2seriously, miranda really looked great in this movie...totally stepped it up...now she's a total luxaholic
3it's amazing what a belt does for a dress! i don't know that i can pull of such a bold pattern since i'm so petite, but i think it looks great on miranda -er- cynthia nixon.
4Did anyone else notice that they lengthened the dress for the movie? It looks like they bought two and used the extra material to make it longer. You can even kinda see the seam, about six inches up from the bottom. It is especially obvious when you look at the two pictures side by side like this. As someone who sews I can attest to the fact that length makes a HUGE difference in how flattering a dress is and this one would not have been as flattering if they left it the original length. I probably wouldn't buy it for that reason...I can't really justify buying two
5I think the hair colour really pulls a lot of her outfits together -it looks great with this dress. I would venture to say she's one of the most stylish in the current film.
6Her style had really improved as the seasons progressed.
7Funny, I like it shorter & without the belt.
8I could never wear that dress, but she pulls it off. And while I haven't seen the movie yet (we're going tonight!) - I've seen lots of pictures of Cynthia Nixon lately, and she looks the best she ever has.
9I love the style of your dress but the print is a little bold for me.
10Like everyone else, the print is probably, nay definitely, too bold for me, but she manages to pull it off well.
11^right. the seam was pretty obvious.
