The newest addition to Louis Vuitton's core values campaign features prestigious filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola and his daughter Sofia sitting in the countryside of Buenos Aires. Shot by Annie Leibovitz, the ad, which is the fifth in its series of exceptional people, depicts Francis sitting with script in hand, taking on an engaging conversation with his beautiful daughter. Amongst all the picturesque scenery, a Louis Vuitton bag is nonchalantly thrown into the mix.

All of this natural scenery is nice but has me wondering: What does it all mean? Pietro Beccari, Louis Vuitton Senior VP of Communication and Marketing, explains it best: "This beautiful visual is a significant new addition to the core values campaign. Not only does it capture the unique quality of a father-daughter relationship, in which both are enriched by a shared experience, but it also evokes the heritage of Louis Vuitton with its suggestion of know-how being passed from one generation to the next." As well, the company is making a donation to The Climate Project on behalf of the famous father and daughter duo. Does this ad pull at your heartstrings?

i love the coppolas
1Gorgeous!
2I really can't stand Sofia Coppola, but I do like these ads. They're sweet, and they show that good style doesn't have to be over-the-top and can even be comfortable.
3They're pretty.
4Still hate the handbags, but I do like the ad.
5I like it. Even thought it was shot in Argentina, the photo reminds me of the movie Out of Africa.
6I love this! I love both of them...such an amazing family (well maybe except for Nicolas Cage. He's pretty bad)
7now this is how to do an ad. i hate all this high fashion hunched over women wearing no clothes crap. make something attractive, like this.
8Like it. Sofia looks so mesmerized on whatever Francis is talking about.
9I like this type of ad it make you stop and think what are they doing.
10What better way to evoke "core values" than to feature a father and daughter?
By the way, what is the "strictly eye candy to me!" option supposed to mean?
11These ads are provocative and very tastefully done like the products they are trying to sell. Maybe Ms. Lebovitz should have used the same common sense when she photographed Milly Cyrus. This pictures suggestes to me, that Sofia is totally engrossed by her fathers suggestions and ideas. And the LV bags is part of it.
12I think it's kind of weird how she's lying at his feet. Why couldn't she be sitting upright, or in a chair? Maybe not as "graceful," but the whole "daughters lying at their fathers' feet" is a little awkward to me. I don't think he's not a great font of inspiration and knowledge, but it seems like something a feminist would find awkward.
13Definitely like it - makes me think of a great adventure
14While the bag pictured is quite beautiful, I am uncomfortable with the postures in this advertisement. I realize that Sofia Coppola's sexuality is supposed to be present in the image, but something about her bare legs and engrossed look seem inappropriate to me in a father-daughter photograph.
15I like!
16What a great ad!
17Love it!
18Two of my fave people.
yeah what does 'strictly eye candy to me' mean?
19I like it! I has a soft, romantic feel and an old fashioned touch. Annie Leibovitz is a genius!
20I love this ad (and it's models). It looks so natural and make me feel as though it's a scene from a book. I don't think it has an inappropriate look to it at all. The way she is positioned adds to the relaxed feel of the photo. And her "engrossed look" appears as if she is contemplating whatever her father is talking to her about.
21I am the last one to buy an LV bag, but I do like this ad.
22love sofia but hate this ad.
23Love!
24It is stunning!
25More mindless celebration of rich celebrities.
26Sofia's is posed in an incredibly awkward position (who casually poses their left leg like THAT?) and aside from obviously expensive grooming, I can't figure out what ideal of beauty she is meant to represent. And the contrived "homage to daddy" pose makes me VERY uncomfortable....

I made up my sincerely mind to resettle and invest in your country for my security and to be far away from my Uncles my late father's brothers who are after my life since after the death of my parents. They are respossible for my father's death and they have took advange of my helpless position to sit on my late father land properies which made my mother move out from our country with me and come here in abidjan where my late father made the deposit in a foreign bank. Here my late mother died on major operation for kidney.
After the death of my late mother, I decided to visited the bank with the deposit documents as a next of kin to my late father to claim the money US$70,000.000 deposited by my late father before he died. The Director of the bank explained to me,that my late father deposited this money as belong to his foreign patner which i said is you.
According to the director he said that under their financial law of the land here that required my late father foreign partner (THE OWNER)to come front for the claim. He also let me to know that i am the only person to instruct the bank on where to transfer the money into any foreign account present to them for the receiving before he will Authorize their bank to Re-Activate the account for full legal transfer which i will back up as next of kin.
