Here's yet another time when I say to myself: Why didn't I think of that? Regular silver or gold safety pins are useful, but what about those times when you're not wearing silver or gold? Violette's Pin-Up's Safety Pins [1] ($14 for 36 pins) have answered my question. There are black pins for LBDs [2], white for brides [3], ivory for those in ivory, and colored for a gal who's not afraid to wear brights. No offense to silver and gold safety pins, but these are way cooler.
