NOT TRUE!! One highly respected news program (I forget which!) tested this out, with cheap $10 dollar ones from the store and expensive Diors and Chanel's and some others, and there was not
one difference in the amount of protection...except that a few of the high end sunnies actually had LESS protection that the cheapies! As long as they say 100% UV protection, it doesn't
matter the price, they protect just as well. So then you can just buy whichever you like based on style:)
I know that in Australia, all sunnies have to have a certain standard (99% or 100%) UVA protection. I think most sunglasses you find in stores like Target, it's the same.
I never see even cheap glasses without the 100 % UV protection so I would hope my glasses are working for that. And I can't really afford more expensive glasses right now even though to be
honest if it really did have more protection and I liked the glasses and I felt ok spending more money on it, I would get more expensive ones, especially since even with my cheap ones I'm
careful and don't break or lose them. I also especially need sunglasses because my eyes are sensitive to sunlight.
I wear them so I'm not blinded by the sun...I'm surprised that's not even a choice. Of course, I try to get a pair that offers UV protection & looks good, too.
Both...I wear them mainly for protection and because I get wicked headaches from the bright sun, but I also love the way a great, oversized pair looks.
My eye doctor told me that the cheap sunglasses, even with the 100% UV stickers, don't protect your eyes from the sun as well as...I don't know, as well as the fancy, expensive ones do. I
think that's because she sells the fancy, expensive ones in her office, though.
I wear prescription sunglasses, which are nowhere near as cute as the sunnies I see in stores all the time! but at least they have really good uv protection.
I feel really weird and uncomfortable wearing sunglasses but I hate squinting in the sun and it can get very intense in Southern California. So I wear them purely for protection.
I have sensitive eyes so I mainly wear them for protection. But of course I also care about how they look on me Just bought a pair of Gucci and I love them.

like magnifier to your
eyes, if you don't
put protection if you
don't put sunglasses?
i used to wear only for the looks, but last year my eyes suddenly got real red and painful, i had to run to my optician, he told me i MUST wear sunglass with UV protctn ALL THE TIME when i'm
outside. rain or shine. i found that my eyes are real delicate, sunglasses are MUST whenever i'm outside.
neither - I wear them because the sun hurts my eyes - I think everybody does that. hello, you don't wear sunglasses unless the sun is out - although I think everybody likes them NOyle too...W

I was born with a few visual problems, one of which is that my pupils work backwards, which means when I go outside they open up. I need my sunglasses to be as black as possible in order to
see outside. This trend of sunglasses that aren't really dark at all really annoys me. If you can see through the glasses they ain't dark enough to be worth anything!

Singer and actress Selena Gomez posed for pictures at the 2009 American Music Awards with a pretty pink smile on her face. She took advantage of the occasion and went glam; wearing a Talbot Runhof sequin dress with black strappy heels.
50/50 although I'ma lil biased towards uv protection.

2Mine have 100% UV protection, and I got them big enough to cover my entire eye area and then some. I'm paranoid like that.

4All the cheapies I have ever bought have had 100% UV protection. But I'm a fan of polaroid lenses myself, and they are a bit pricey.

6I have very sensitive eyes so protection is important, and they happen to be chic...

18I do both. I wear them for protection and because I also get headachs if i don't have them. I also wear it for style.
19My eyes are soooo light sensitive and I do not want wrinkles from squinting.
Oh, and my wayfarers are simply cool and classic. I hope people stop wearing them again soon.

21The sun is radiation. Radiation is bad for humans.

24Also, I didn't know the cheaper ones didn't offer that good of UV protection...what are some reliable ones that do offer great protection??
25I always forget about sun protection. I just wear them because it's bright outside.
AND because they look faaaahbulous, dahling.
26I have sensitive eyes so I mainly wear them for protection. But of course I also care about how they look on me
Just bought a pair of Gucci and I love them.
27I made sure my Gucci's had 100% protection. They are the best purchase I have ever made!!!!

35They look fab & protect my eyes. Plus, I have to wear them, I can't see a thing outside without them.
