Remember how Miuccia Prada chose to replace Kirsten Dunst with French songstress Vanessa Paradis for their Miu Miu Autumn/Winter 2008 campaign? I'm not so sure I'm excited anymore . . .
Photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, the ad depicts Paradis posing somewhat awkwardly wearing a scuba-esque top. I love her makeup but I'm not too impressed with the boring bridge in the background and her lack of expression. This is one of many to come but so far I prefer Kirsten's kitschy Spring campaign to Vanessa's. Do you think Johnny's better half worked it for the camera?

I dont like the clothing/colors they put her in except for the lipstick. Why couldn't they have done something better with Vanessa, especially since I'm sure someone else will be doing the next campaign and they wasted their time using Vanessa for a not so great ad. I loved the Kirsten ones (no matter what Kiki haters say), Maggie G. and I think the ones with Ludivine Sagnier are my most favorite ones.

4i loved the ones with kirsten WAY better. they were fun and interesting to look at. this one is just, blegh.
5Why did they even use Vanessa Paradis? They've taken a 36 year old fashion icon and made her look like a generic 16 year old Eastern European model. Maybe that's why they had to stick her initials on her...
6Meh... they could do much better with her. And I'm not a fan of the dramatic lipstick&blush matched with pale skin.

11Nothing wrong with Vanessa...it's Miu Miu's fault for picking the boring background and sticking her with that top. Kirsten got the better set up.
12I'm sorry but I believe Kirsten was great last season. I just don't see the Miu Miu spirit in Paradis. I pictured her doing Prada maybe but not Miu Miu.
13They could've gone prettier with other models. Miranda Kerr would knock this out of the park.

18she's beautiful, but the pose is lame, the background is lame, and that shirt is just ugly. the ones with kirsten are wayyyy better - I think she definetely captures the youthful but still elegant spunkiness that I think miu miu is all about...
19vanessa is so great, but i have to say i'm disappointed with this one. kiki's ads were bangin'.
