As I look out the window to a faintly smoky-skied San Francisco, this Alexander McQueen motif from his Resort collection seems very relevant. In case you didn't hear, there were wildfires in Northern California recently, and the smoke spread to other parts of the state. Freaky? A little. When I first saw this wisp of a print, I had to zoom in. What is that?!

Many see McQueen as a portent in the fashion world, and, yes, he is pretty dope. He has always had his own aesthetic; slightly dark, immensely feminine, completely captivating. This moody motif actually evolved from a pattern on trenchcoats, to tromp l'oeil embroidery on shirts and pants, to a print on T-shirts and an LBD. We see prints on clothes day in and day out, but this one is a stand-out. The smoking and fashion debate continues; what about in this case? Can you make an exception? (Yes)

2i can't see the clothing for the waif in the middle! UGH
3luv McQueen and everything he does - and this is no exception - I love how he took such simple silhouettes and such a simple idea and made it very beautiful and original - my only complaint is that the smoke on the black blazer looks like his skeleton...
4is it me or is the female model in SERIOUS need of a sandwich? I am all for skinny models but that is disgusting.
5I LOVE this...McQueen is always amazing!
6I was looking at a collection of his on Vogue.com and I just fell in love with him. I loved every single ensemble.
7la,la,love McQueen...
8but i'm not liking the skin and bones in the middle, she doesn't FLATTER the dress.
She brings more attention to her disgusting self rather than the dress.
McQueen is one of the eccentric designers that very few can pull off his garments.
9Agreed, RosaDilia.
