Shop Your Closet: The Ultimate Guide to Organizing Your Closet With Style by Melanie Charlton Fascitelli ($14) is cooler than most humans I know; it had a party thrown in honor of its birth! The author, a closet expert, teaches you how to make a safe haven for your clothes so that you can, yes, go shopping in your own closet.
Expect to learn the following: how to clean out your closet, shop for items that flatter your body, make the best wardrobe for your lifestyle, rework your closet space, and store shoes and clothes so that they last longer. You'll also get schooled on how to consign your old stuff, keep your closet neat, and pack smartly. But wait, there's more. Who would have thought one could pack so much useful knowledge in 176 pages?!

I wish I had the closet space to do it.
1i read the book cover to cover. unfortunately, unless you are one of those people with a lot of closet space, or have a 'permanant' address, many of her suggestions don't work. they also don't work if you are a student who has a very very limited budget.
2thanks princess. i was thinking about buying it but I have a closet that barely fits my hangers in my rented apartment. so at least now i know to save my $14. thats money i can put in my savings account
3You could always borrow it from the library!
4I need someone just as brilliant and organized to write a similar book- but tailored for people who live in places like NY or SF and are limited in space. I have yet to see a San Francisco apartment with real closets.
5I can barely hang my t-hirts in my closet... I want a Carrie Bradshaw closet...
6Recent payrise = woohoo, but also = temptation to buy more stuff to hoarde.
And fabsugar doesnt help with curbing purchases!
7Although I long for a Carrie Bradshaw closet, it will never happen. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, where closets barely exist! Even so, I thought this book had some good suggestions. Plus I can always use support for cleaning and weeding out. (Aside: My latest anti-resistance trick is to plug in my telephone headset and talk with a friend while I do it.)
