Gap Inc., which owns Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy, recently held its Holiday 2008 collection presentation in NYC, and Fashion Wire Daily showed us some of the holiday goods from the three retailers. With increasing gas prices, we can all afford to shop with a budget-conscious mindset right now, and luckily, we don't have to sacrifice good taste.
At the higher end is Banana Republic, who will offer oodles of evening looks, including a Prada-inspired lace dress. Gap's Holiday line is less fancy and more comfy, with lumberjack plaids and wool coats. Old Navy (pictured left) will provide pops of color.

looking good i'm excited to see it all in the stores
1I'm liking some of what I see. I like Banana Republic better than the other two stores, but lately i've seen a good improvement in Old Navy. Their leather collection for instance, and I bought a silk dress from them the other day. Since when did they start carrying silk? Yay! Now if only they'd carry more shoes in size 6 and improve their customer service.
2Ehhhhh........
3Not bad, I see some pieces I would love to buy.
4I want that white coat in my closet
5The white coat looks a lot like one I bought from The Gap in Holiday 2005.
Except
mine is a happy princess cake green and has a handy detachable hood. I absolutely love it...classic and fun, warm and cozy but with a silky comfy inside.
Only one problem with it: the exterior fabric is nice, crisp (I keep it rolled up in a ball during warm weather and it still looks ironed), and durable (easy to clean...I've gotten drips of acrylic paint on it that I could pinch right off with a cloth; dirt and liquids set on the surface and don't soak in), BUT, for some reason, lol, the fabric STINKS when it gets wet.
Not that great in enclosed spaces where you're stuck close to
people, like cars and classrooms.
Maybe the new coat is a different fabric?
6Simple and basic. I like it. I'm definitely going to have to check out the entire collection.
7UK Gap is my favourite.
8How incredibly ... boring.
9The gap is boring. The style stays the same while the prices keep going up.
10Couldn't agree more. Boring. How many sweaters can they sell?
11that banana lace dress will be mine!
12holiday looks in july?
13Looks all right...not blowing my mind though.
