I love fashion too much to ever be dressed down. I go to a bbq in a dress and heels and no one expects any differently from me. And I do the same on vacation... also, most of my vacations are
to places in europe, so I like to fit in with the locals.
Dresses are so much easier for me. On our vacation it was great to see the sites all day in a sleeveless dress & sandals, then pull on a cropped sweater & heels for dinner. I didn't
look like a tourist.
Casual, but in different degrees. When I was in Mexico, I wore jean shorts and tank tops all week. When I go to Europe, I still stay very casual but wear my nicest jeans and cutest tops (with
COMFY shoes).
I'm just super-casual in general. I hate getting dressed up.
I try to look good, but at the same time I think vacation is the best excuse to wear things you wouldn't have worn before!
Usually you are in a different climate and atmosphere and you feel great trying on some new clothes you usually couldn't wear at home
I love being able to wear my favorite dresses and skirts that might not be right for work or just everyday wear (flowy, gauzy fabrics, summery patterns, a bit short)! I do skip the heels and
jewelry (except for dinner and dancing) but overall, I prefer to stay stylin'. It's nice, too because when it's hot, there's always the excuse to change for dinner, too! No vacation from
fashion! Love that!
Well, I usually travel somewhere warm and tropical for my vacations, so I love to wear flowy dresses and skirts. Nothing fancy, but I try to look nice for dinner and nights out.
I vote dressed up, but a laid back dressed up. I don't care for the idea of being dressed down because I do too often and I've been wanting to get into the habit of dressing up more often.
Depends..when I travel I always try to have at least ONE thing that looks a bit dressier "just in case".
Definitely one thing I do like to do is dress nice while travelling (I invested in very good luggage a few years ago, and always try to mind the cute details..nice gloves in winter, practical
but sleek, non-wrinkling clohtes)... but on planes, it gets harder each year..between security and customs and shoes off and shoes on and crowds and heat and hassle its almost not worth it
anymore, which is sad. I tend to pick shoes that "don't beep", clothes that "don't beep" and now...thanks to an overzealous security lady in Amsterdam, "bras that don't beep".
/shudder
In general my opinion is "dress to the season and occasion."
I try to look nice wherever I have the chance (read: not having to work in a lab all day). Not really anything too fancy, but I like taking dresses when I travel. It's easy to put an outfit
together with a dress and I usually only go to vacation in warm seasons.

In this week's Gossip Girl, Blair Waldorf demonstrates that there's nothing like a red sparkly dress to make you stand out at a party. Although her exact Marchesa dress isn't available online, this one is quite similar.
