Sharp. Bold. Retro. Just call them conical. Heels have been tinkered and jiggered but the cylindrical heel has bounced back. Surprisingly, these heels provide a stable foundation. I mean look at these magnificent Miu Mius; no one would mess with those. Functional and fashionable, just call them Fab.

4I love the conical heel look. I have a pair of grey patent leather heels from Coach and they are literally the most comfortable heels I have ever worn (wore them all day at work and into the night including an eleven block walk, then wore them a week later for a night of dancing. my feet felt like i was wearing flats the entire time)I'm currently wearing black faux snakeskin pumps from Calvin Klein with conical heels. Also very comfortable!
5Oooh I have a pair of black patent conical 5 inch heels by Carlos Santana, they are gorgeus and usually heels that high would kill me but the heel prevents me from wobbling around LOL . They're a half size smaller than I usually wear but they didn't feel uncomfortable or too tight so I bought them, and I'm sure if they were my actual size they would be extremely comfy.

16Just a comment here from a guy who thinks that these "conical heels" are about the sexiest look ever!
I don't find them "retro", because most of us weren't even alive, when this type of heel was probably popular -- I'm thinking around the 1940s.
So to most of the population, they're a brand new, and very modern look. I think they look very modern and hot!
Also, I think they are easier on a woman's legs and feet than standard thin stiletto heels, for some legitimate biomechanical reasons. Notice how the place where the heel attaches to the sole of the shoe is thick (even though the heel tapers down to a very narrow point). The thickness of the top of the heel means that when a woman moves her foot around (whether she's walking or just standing in place), there is more support for the woman's heel and foot, and the foot is more actually stable, because the foot isn't moving around as much. A more stable foot means less stress on the ankle joint, which means more overall comfort.
I hope these heels stay in fashion, I think they are incredibly sexy looking!!!
