We can all agree that $250 for a plaid button-down top is too much. Such was the case with Lauren Conrad's cute, albeit overpriced, Elizabeth and James shirt. Alas, plaid is already on the move to becoming a Fall frenzy, so get ahead of the trend on the cheap. I do, however, recommend teaming your plaid shirt with foxy high heels a la LC — this takes the look from totally geek to totally chic.

I agree, $250 for a shirt is insane for most of us out there! I remember this past spring buying an $80 t-shirt from Neiman Marcus in LA, that I just had to have, I mean it was the perfect white tee, but I could not believe I was paying $80 and that is by far the most I have ever paid for a shirt. I recently have gotten into these button down plaid shirts, which you can find great ones at thrift stores for 5 bucks if you take the time and visit the men's and little boys sections, but also have gotten into graphic tees for a new casual/sexy look for women - i love the men's tees on www.collarfree.com, but for me! They look hot on women and are only like 20 bucks! There is definitely no reason to spend your month's fashion allotment on one shirt these days with all the choices.
super cute finds! I agree with MelissaJames, the best plaid shirts I found have been in the boys section of the Salvation Army and thrift stores.
Burberry plaid ONLY!
Eh, plaid prints aren't usually favorite of mine, but I agree that a plaid shirt can sometimes be cute.
I haven't done plaid since the grunge trend of the 90s!
I think her shirt looks more rockabilly than anything.
I think I like it.
go to the little boy's section of target. they're like $12.99. I bought an XL (i wanted it to be big on me) and it's awesome!
I don't know. I'm so used to seeing myself in plaid skirts; switching it upward would be something different on my style.
not a fan of this
I guess these are coming back into style. I like plaid shirts that are fitted and have a feminine shape.
Whatever about the plaid shirt trend I just think it's great that you got another opportunity to show the same picture of Lauren Conrad in the same outfit two days in a row. Yay for Lauren Conrad!
In Jr. High I had a plaid book bag, now there is one at UO for 40 bucks! Mine was like 20 at JC Penny in '94. I so wish I still had that bag you have no idea.
