I love a dramatic cover. That's why I loved ultraleggy model Nadja Auermann's September 1994 cover of Bazaar. She pierced my soul with her platinum hair, panther eyes, and icy blue feathers. But wait, doesn't Kate Hudson's 2008 W cover look strikingly similar? I don't know if that was intentional, but it's uncanny. I'm a fan of both ladies, and they both pull off this extreme look, so it's double the fun for me.

I saw this, but I'm not crazy about the kate hudson one. the centering of the bazaar cover makes it more dramatic, and there's something that I really don't like about romantic comedy princess Kate Hudson getting all edgy. Maybe she's redefining her image...?
I dunno, it just bothers me. She looks way overworked and it's just not sitting with me well.
Oh wow! I totally remember having a copy of that Bazaar with Nadja on the cover. it's a striking cover if I can remember it from that long ago. I prefer Nadja over Kate.
Very similar...
i agree itsme3683, the bazaar does look better
Kate looks better. She's a lot prettier.
kinda creepy, running out of ideas?
I lean more to the dislike side when it comes to Kate Hudson.. I don't know why, really. The Bazaar cover is way better and more dramatic... and of course, was done first.
I like Kate, but I don't know how I feel about that cover...
There is a reason why magazines hire professional models.
This is a perfect example!
Why all the hating on Kate? She looks pretty striking here too, and I had no idea it was her until the post said it was! I like the makeup on the W cover more than the Bazaar, it seems more extreme to me with the contrast of her ultra-pale skin and the dark lips.
Nadja Auermann is so wickedly beautiful and totally in a class of her own. She was my favorite nineties supermodel.
I prefer the Bazaar cover, although as a rule I generally prefer real models on the covers of fashion magazines than actresses or celebrities. The off-center W cover doesn't have as much of a visual impact.
kate just looks wayyyy too retouched in this pic - I defenitely prefer the bazaar one - love that girl's face...
wow those are too much alike but I still like them
Sometimes you have to pull from the archives . I get that these are competing magazines. I like it. It's good to see Kate Hudson in another light aside from the California Beach babe boho look they always photograph her in.
I guess I'm the odd man out but I actually prefer Kate's. She manages to make it both striking and beautiful. If you were to see Nadja on the bazaar cover in front of you you would run for your life, but if you saw Kate you might know you should run but be tempted over to your death. I guess I'm a bit more whimsical, but the W Cover reminds me of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and I like that.
Oh and the way her eyes aren't posed perfectly symmetrical really brings the made up look to life. I guess thats the positive of hiring a actress versus a model.
