Every fashion follower is bound to have a momentary lapse of judgment, and that moment has come for Gossip Girl Blake Lively. The actress had us scratching our heads when she showed up to a party in the Hamptons in this monochrome outfit. All-white can be crisp and refreshing, but here it's tacky.
If I were Blake's stylist, I would have ridded her of those unflattering white pants and thrown on a slimming black pair. I would have cut off the side tie that accompanies the blouse as it's too much with the ruffles. On her feet, I would have recommended fun metallic sandals so as to let the blouse do the dazzling. How would YOU wear it?

Dress for Less
Alexander McQueen
V.I.K
With an high waist black pencil skirt and a pair of Jimmy Choo's
1Glenys python sandals and I couldn't agree more with FabSugar about getting reed of the side tie.
I like the way she's wearing it. I wouldnt change a thing. Not every outfit has to be "slimming". And I love that obnoxious tie on the side!
2Trousers have to go.. I'd style it with a pair of rolled up black trousers and some fierce shoes.. Maybe hot pink and suede! She also doesn't need the fabric round the belly so I'd get rid of that allowing that tummy to be on show...
3I like her outfit as it is too! Sure, maybe it's not her best outfit to date, but it still makes her look great. She has such a nice body that she can pull off the "unflattering" white pants.
4she looks great, I like the outfit too!
5the bottom sash i'd X out and maybe even try it with a hot pair of dark skinny jeans and some snake skinned louboutins (although i personally don't wear animals).
6I can't decide which I hate more--those horrible pants or the top. I like ruffles, but this a little over-the-top for me.
7Either a black pencil skirt very sleek with a great pair of grey suede high heeled loafers or a fun metallic mini....... I think the all white thing was just bad judgement but everybody has off days
8I am sorry but those shoes are most offensive.
9I would bring some sort of colour into it at least, like her shoes, a colourful heel and matching accessory would make the outfit less tacky & i do not know what that white fabric on the belly is but it looks awful! she should get rid of that! and the trousers have to go, a skirt would look much better. but im not sure what skirt!
10Synergistic tackiness.
11Keep the shirt, add denim mini skirt and python pumps. Wear hair up in a loose ponytail and add stud earrings with just a hint of sparkle. Add a bracelet with a little punch of color. Go.

12I love the all white...crisp, summer, Hamptons-y. I do agree that metallic sandals would have been a nice touch, but I think she looks great.
13I agree with EU... Black Pencil skirt but with Louboutin Very Noeud!! HOT!
14I can't pull that off, but it looks very nice on her.
15i really like this outfit
16Horrible outfit.
17The top is cute and would look good with the pencil skirt EU suggested or black pants a la Fab. I don't like the side tie of the shirt either (it looks rather extraneous) and the sheer top with those tight white pants isn't flattering. With a different outfit, the pants would look good. The shoes are ugly.
18I would have worn it with a high waisted black pencil skirt and black sky high YSL pumps
19I'd go with either a sleek black pencil skirt or a cute little gold mini skirt. and i agree cut off the side tie.
20its not SUPER UGLY... But I would pair that blouse with some brown pants and a strappy silver sandal... Brown is so refreshing to me...
21I actually really like the outfit on her and the "slimming" comment leaves me a bit boggled. The only thing I would have done differently is worn black or nude closed toe shoes. White shoes rarely look good and especially so when worn with white.
22I love the top. Anybody know who makes it?
23at first glance I didn't recognize her. The outfit makes her look old.
24Sorry dears, I only do sheer when it's stockings. And I'm not much on the lobster-bib style top, either. I'm messy, and I just know that SOMETHING would get dropped on it, or worse, it'd get dipped in something. Pass!
25It's as simple as giving her a new top. I think that one is hideous.
26Too many ruffles is right, I would wrap the side tie around to lose the sheer look of the blouse and tuck it under, or do a simple "rob drape" which is just making sure its flat, elegent(no bows!!) and comple..but still visible as a tie.
27Very chic, also...maybe a black denim..? for a dramatic yet recently popular colour blocking effect.
Black jeans/pants and black stilettos.
