Have you ever, um, measured your thighs alongside your gal pal? It looks as though these model friends, backstage at Cape Town Fashion Week, are sizing themselves up. Perhaps they're merely massaging them before they get on the catwalk? I hope that's it. It's natural to measure oneself, and I'm sure we've all done it, but with all these model health issues, this photo doesn't paint the best picture. I say it's freaky. What do you think?

Their thighs are so skinny that they are the same size as their calfs! This doesnt look healthy at all and its disturbing that anybody would find this glamorous.
1I don't think it looks like they're measuring their thighs at all. Maybe just giving them a good rub down with some sparkly lotion before the show? haha.
I measure my thighs all the time, but never have with my friends.
2I don't think they're measuring their thighs, either. In fact Cape Town models look healthy, especially compared to their high fashion Euro conterparts. Our African models have boobs and butts.

5If that's what they're doing, it's pretty freaky. It's better to look at your overall body proportions, instead of measuring parts of your body and getting upset over the number of inches. I've never measured my thighs
6I have a running argument with a close friend who swears her thighs are larger than mine. We have measured and the tape says they are, but the pants at White House/Black Market that we tried on disagreed. It's funny to others, so I don't think it's wierd. LOL! These ladies are probably just massaging theirt legs.
7i think that it's somewhat wrong - but i have to admit that last night i did the same thing. i broke my knee a year or so ago, so now one thigh is like 1/2 an inch smaller and i was measuring them to see how they compare. it was sick - i even told my fiance that i would have to lose like 20 more lbs so they would be super thin and then look the same to me.
i think that i'm starting to understand the psyche of a model - and i'm not sure that's a great thing for me to be doing .

I would also like to add that the one in white doesn't look like the average model, she has a shape! Kudos!

10I don't think they're measuring, just moisturizing or something as others have pointed out. There are no measuring tapes or anything in sight.
11I definitely agree that they're moisturizing or putting some kind of lotion on their legs.
12i have never measured my thighs, well for myself. (I had to because we were ordering new uniforms for my Color Guard team)
13who in the world would look at this picture and think " OMG their measuring their thighs with their hands and comparing them!!!" I think whoever interpreted this picture as such is "freaky", as you like to put it, but not the models in the photo

19Why would anyone automatically think that they are measuring their thighs? It simply looks as though they're moisturizing.
