Just when I was about to frown upon Selma Blair's stylist for putting her in dowdy outfits for the Hellboy II movie photo calls, she showed up to a party in a sexy black Nathan Jenden cutout dress. I wouldn't mind if it were a tad shorter, but overall it works for Selma's off-kilter style. We've seen cut outs in all shapes and sizes, but here is a fresh approach. The cut outs almost resemble flower petals, and I love their unusual placements. The pointy Louboutin pumps and gold bangles elevate the look but don't distract from the design. Does Selma's black cutout dress wow you or bore you?

I like the top part of it, but the side slits on her thighs are extremely unflattering. I like the shoes though, hooray for pointy shoes!
1I
it. Those heels are HOT!
2I think it's adorable, but I really hate point shoes. Sorry.
3I used to not be a huge Selma Blair fan, but I'm really starting to love her (it might have to do with all the pics floating around of her in those beautiful theads from her new show)! I'm not in love with the dress, but I think she looks nice. I agree with munchkin. I really would have loved it if the cutouts were only up top!
4the theory behind it is cute but its just not well executed- it makes her look wide- and she is not a wide person.
5It reminds me of the snowflakes we would make out of cut up coffee filters when I was a kid.
6it would have been CUTE, if the cut outs was only at the top part of the dress.
whats up with the cut outs at the thighs n mid area. ugh!!!!!!
7i love it!
8If the cutouts were kept up top and there were fewer of them...then it would be a great dress. Just a slight miss.
9It's a cute dress -- I'm sure it looked great on the hanger. But it makes her look shorter and fatter than she actually is.
10I actually really liked this...on her. I can't think of anyone else that could pull this off without looking ho-baggy.
11Although the outfit is not that great, I think it's not about her outfit. It's about the way she carried the dress. It looks awful on her. Plus the messy hair and the shoes didn't help.
12I find it awful on so many different levels...the neckline makes her look like she's got man-shoulders and no neck; the cutouts are just plain distracting, and I think they're helping to make her waist look really wide; and the hem length doesn't help to flatter her figure, either.
I mean, it's an interesting idea, and it's not like she's generally a conventional red-carpet dresser, but still, it just doesn't look good on her.
13It doesn't wow me or bore me, I think it's terrible. The cutout thing is an interesting concept but it's overdone, there's no need for any of the ones below the chest, and the dress itself is such an ugly shape, and so unflattering on her, that it would take more than a few cut out petals to save it. Hate it.
14I've never really liked cut outs though.
15I hate it! And I think it's an odd length too.
16If it just had the cut out at the top I think it would be cute. But all the other cut outs on her stomach and legs just ruins the dress.
