I've been drooling over Mike & Chris leather jackets for quite a while, but the duo's latest design has me in a daze. This Mike & Chris Bronze Leather Jacket ($885) is très chic.
Metallic? Check. Leather? Check. I really need this awesome jacket but yikes! The price tag will leave me in financial agony. That leaves me with one choice. Find something cheaper, of course.

Now that's much better. This Spiegel Cropped Metallic Leather Jacket ($109, originally $129) is still awfully cute and much more affordable. I like how the scarf collar adds a sophisticated touch to the sheeny texture.

The Spiegel version actually looks a little more like the Mike & Chris jacket from last season. It was metallic but cropped and had a tie on the neck. I was lucky enough to find an awesome Mike & Chris leather jacket at a sample sale - one of my favorite finds!
1I like the idea, but I'm not crazy about the scarf part, at least not on me. I'd like to see it without. But still, an amazing look for less!!
2The Spiegel version doesn't look as fitted as the other one.

4i like the mike & chris better too...i agree with myystque, its the other one is not as body flattering.
5Love the Mike & Chris jacket, but intensely dislike the Spiegal one. The scarf looks silly, in my opinion.
6I just can't get past the scarf part. Think about out in rotten weather, how that damp leather would feel against your skin as you pull your neckline in close to keep the wind out. Eengh.
I'd have to see the jacket on with a straight-standing model, pulled closed, to see how the fit looks. That sort of twisted open jacket slouched pose could potentially be helping, or really hurting, how the jacket really looks.
7I love the Mike & Chris one even though I'm a little hesistant about the color - I don't really love the Speigel one - but it doesn't matter because I can't really pull off leather jackets...
8The Speigel one doesn't even begin to compare to the Mike & Chris one...
9Ebay is your friend Fab. I got my Mike & Chris jacket for 1/3 of the tag price and it is brand new!
10There's also a jacket by Candie's at Kohls that is very similar!
