Two fashion worlds collided in a recent collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Rei Kawakubo. The Japanese designer behind Comme des Garçons, known for her simple and avant-garde styling, has designed an exclusive collection of evening bags for the monogram heavy luxury label.
“Due to our clever coordination, I anticipate that the wall between us will disappear. Funnily enough, I have never actually bought anything [at Vuitton], but I probably will buy a party bag next week,” said Kawakubo .
Kawakubo's six handbag designs, debuting next Wednesday in Tokyo, range from classically styled evening bags to '70s inspired shapes adorned with charms and multiple leather straps such as the bag pictured above.

Am I the only one who hates the LV and Coach monogram? I don't care what you do to the shape of the purse those monograms are tacky on top of not being aesthetically pleasing.
1Oh and the other designer monograms I didn't mention are ugly too.

3I really feel badly about saying this, but this bag is going to give me some serious nightmares! This is just not right on so many levels!!!
4how is someone supposed to carry that bag. "gee i wonder what strap i want it on today, maybe somewhere in the middle" it would just keep on bugging ur shoulders the whole time
5I'm not a fan of the monogram bags either, but these ones are extraordinarily ugly. I'm sure they'll sell like hotcakes though, because people are stupid.
6I actually like the monogram bags, even though I'm basically paying hundreds to be a walking billboard for the brand.
7Louis Vuitton is out of control! Every new release of purses...I grow to be less and less of a fan. They need to high-tail it out of Japan for a while and focus on their classic styles - that is when they truly shine!

10I adore the LV handbag in the main photo (w/ all the layered handles/loops.) I find it to be so interesting and chic.
11Interesting, quite. But shouldn't the point of a handbag be functionality? Personally if I didn't have crap to carry, I wouldn't bother with one. And since I DO have crap to carry, I don't want to be putzing around with EIGHT bloody handles to get to the zipper!
12I don't mind monograms that much. I just hate it when people wear it as evening wear!
13But this bag is just scary! How do you wear it? And once you do figure out which handle to use, what would actually fit in it?
