Imagine having the task of creating footwear for a high-profile flick starring Nicole Kidman? That's precisely the boat Salvatore Ferragamo is in. The footwear designer, along with Oscar-winning costume designer Catherine Martin, is set to create a collection of shoes for Baz Luhrmann's Australia.
"My grandfather, Salvatore Ferragamo, began his career working in costume design for the American Film Company, a precursor to Twentieth Century Fox, so it is only fitting that we carry on his name and our company's heritage by collaborating once again on a film from Fox," said James Ferragamo.
When watching the movie, which comes out in November, look for evening sandals, riding boots, and classic wedge styles. Some shoes will later be sold at Ferragamo stores worldwide. But first, they will be displayed in Milan at the Evolving Legend Exhibition starting Sept. 24.

Coool, it's about time they put more high fashion stuff in movies.
Dang, I want Hugh to sweep me away like that
1AMEN, sister. AMEN.
I'm sure the shoes are fabulous too
But come ON! Hugh is...*fans self*
2I wish nicole would pick a color and stay with it. She is almost completely grey now, but I hate the lighter color on her, I much liked the reddish blonde better.
3oh my GOSH i can't wait to see this movie.
4I got to attend a special screening of this movie back in June. It was still a rough edit and the CGI stuff wasn't complete, but it was quite good.
5P.S. I thought that a lot of the clothes the characters wore weren't true to the time frame (which is set during WWII)
The pic of this kiss makes Nicole looks so uncomfortable! Not exactly hot looking, ha. They're both lovely, however, I hope they have more chemistry in the movie.
