Oh my gosh, I almost missed Jenni Kayne's Spring '09 presentation — one of my favorites. I totally got lost in the West Village and man, was it hot outside. Alas, I found salvation on Jane Street and on stark white mannequins. While I do think models wear clothes better than mannequins, Kayne continues to impress with her minimal, subtly detailed cool girl clothes. We can cut her some slack — she is expecting a baby Kayne after all.
Favorites were the maxi length skirts (ode to the canary yellow one) and dresses, a gold paillette skirt paired with a blue button down shirt and a stone canvas box blazer and short suit. Simple shapes juxtaposed with bursts of print and color here and there, were quintessential Kane. Her gowns were noteworthy; one stand out was deco-esque with a dramatic drapes on the sides.

yum LOVE the yellow maxi skirt! it looks incredibly comfy and wearable. yellow is actually pretty versitile.
1I schlepped all the way down to this one, only to find out that there were no models. NOOOOOOOOO! Nothing for Bella to write about! Clothes are cool though.
2Elegant and feminine. I like her work. Also, her pieces look comfortable to wear.
3Pretty sure the yellow skirt is actually a dress? Check out the neckline. {It's photo 26 of 30, btw}
