2008 MTV Movie Awards: Ellen Page

We've seen Ellen Page in menswear-inspired outfits, but this one is by far the most boyish. On any other red, or gold, carpet, it wouldn't be appropriate to wear sneakers, but since it's MTV, it works. She definitely could have picked a less disheveled outfit, but it's her thing and she's sticking to it! Are you on her side?

All I'm saying, STYLED ^^^ Make no mistake. chunky bright sneakers, cropped leather jacket, white tee (half tucked for extra points), skinny black jeans= concoction of a border-line fashion victim stylist overplaying the tomboy thing.

Good for her for doing what she wants, but she looks uncomfortable. She looks like her jacket is stiff and too big or something? Personally I think she's plain and boring. But I feel bad cause I think she is just lacking a real sense of style and then ends up crapping out because she's trying too hard.

*yawn* oh ellen you are so quirky and tomboyish and march to your own drum , we get it, now go and get a stylist before you fade into obscurity or turn into that old chick from annie hall.

I voted "undecided". It's VERY casual, but it's very her, so it works I think. However I would have preferred to use at least one feminine element: either replace the tattered top with a more feminine one, maybe in color, or silver, or with some interesting detail, or the shoes with something a bit more girly - even peep-toe flats would have been better.

you know, I get that she's convinced she's a tomboy and everything, but sometimes it's like she tries too hard to not look girly. personally, I think she looks beautiful when she embraces her girliness - like at the Oscars - I think she just looks so sloppy here, especially with her pants tucked into those awful shoes...
