Fab Ad: Madonna For Louis Vuitton Fall '09

One thing is for sure: Madonna and Marc Jacobs can't get enough of those bunny ears. Louis Vuitton's Fall '09 campaign, shot by Steven Meisel in NYC, captures (an overly) Photoshopped image of the the pop star wearing an outfit similar to the one she proudly paraded to the Met Gala complete with '80s-inspired mesh fingerless gloves and an oversized LV monogrammed bag. Madonna's mannequin-like pose and blemish-free face are too unrealistic for my taste but might appeal to some Material Girl aficionados. What say you — a hit or major diss?

This is a fantastic ad campaign. The saturation of photoshop, the stiff doll-like poses of every picture, the blending of her, the furnishings and the backdrop accentuates the bags. Beautiful color rendering and quite unique. Everything you see is deliberate and produces vivid contrasts from the bags themselves which is the true product. These are far more exciting than the previous campaign used with Madonna. Although beautiful photos done in a cafe setting, they were more true to life in a real environment and the bags became camouflaged. In this case, the series of photos are bold yet decadent and very fresh. Well done Steven!

I definitely wouldn't have recognized her...tooooooo much photoshop...what's the point of paying her all that money for this ad, if half the population doesn't even recognize her?

hmm.... i don't like madonna as a face for the campaign.the bag she's modelling isn't even that nice either.so it's a flop on both parts!

The bunny ears have to go, otherwise the photo is gorgeous. Yes it's so photoshopped that we can barely recognize her, but fashion advertising is all about fantasy.

I looked at the photo a second time and noticed just how much they photoshopped her face. Marc, good choice of a model, but the actual photo is poorly executed.

The photoshop thing is pretty distracting, however, I think Madonna resembles the brand (LV) a lot- luxurious, dramatic, with a classic twist.

hate Madonna, and I think she is terrible at everything she does especially modeling; so this is actually a step up from her first ad haha! but, yeah, the photoshopping is just too wierd and unrealistic; it looks cheap and stupid; like some little kid made it. serriously though; as much as I hate those stupid bunny ears; they should have used that picture of Marc himself wearing them - I loved that picture!if you don't know what I'm talking about; you have to see it:http://www.bloglovin.com/m/34190811/0

Is that her? And are her arms somehow surgically attached to the chair?Her head looks out of place.I completely agree with redscorpio. Completely forgot it's an advert for a bag! Oops...though the bag is quite nice.

I don't like it at all - the amount of Photoshopping and the result are ridiculus. And what's more I find it entirely distracting - you do not see the bag, you see the model. This is not a good ad (imho of course).
