2009 People's Choice Awards: Queen Latifah

How fitting for the host of the evening, Queen Latifah, to wear this purple silk chiffon gown. The regal color and jeweled neckline highlight her color tone beautifully. The flowy cut is ethereal and her dainty silver sandals are dainty. Made for a royal, rappin' queen. Do you love it or hate it?

Actually I think this works on her but..I don't like those chunky blue stones at the neck, they feel awkward and "afterthought" in terms of design. She has the height and presence to pull this off without looking like she's wearing a nightgown. Not something I'd wear - but I think she manages to pull this off without it overpowering her. Not easy to do.

I really like the dress--I personally think it's gorgeous and flattering. And the perfect color. I kind of hate the rhinestones though. They look tacky.

the fluidity and tone to the color actually make her look bigger than she is, it's not really flattering in the least.

It's very 80's and to be honest I find it a bit garish. The fit looks good on her though -- I think it's the fabric and jewels that are offputting.

i love this look on her and i think that the color really suits her complexion well. she's managed to really find gowns that flatter her figure over the years and this is just another example of that!
