I don't consider Taylor's luggage all that pretty. To me, it's mismatched and strange-looking. The one with the stripes is especially hideous.

I have a very nice Diane Von Furstenberg suitcase that looks like a carpetbag. It has a colorful pattern on it, so it's very easy to spot coming down the conveyor belt.

I normally don't spend money on designer stuff. This one I got for a steal at a discount store.

And I agree with Rouge Noir that the luggage in that picture is not pretty.

I wouldn't want hideous luggage, but I don't get the point of making something pretty thats going to be thrown around an airport and put under a plane.

I have Samsonite black label Vintage luggage I take with me when it really matters (and usually just a carry on- I don't trust it anywhere else). For regular trips- I take my Eagle Creek luggage. It's the lightest on the market at 10 lbs for a 28" allowing extra room for the important stuff-clothes and shoes!! Just sharing a secret!

I got a few amazing Samsonite pieces a few years ago -- in a pretty burnt orange. Doesn't show the dirt at all, and the wheels turn 360 degrees so I can slide them easily regardless of how heavy they are. Even my 8 year old was toting them this summer with ease! I also have two really nice designer carry on bags, picked up at Loehmann's -- stylish, pretty, and super durable. I think I'd rather sink my money into a carry on as they really do have gorilla's handling the checked luggage, so you wind up replacing them more often!

I don't buy expensive or pretty luggage. I always cringe at the way luggange handlers mistreat and throw around suitcases before they're boarded on the plane or on the pick up belt.

I have a navy blue American Tourister set that I have had since I was a young teen. My dad got it for me for Christmas and despite much abuse, it all still looks great. This luggage has traveled more than I have (thanks stupid airlines!) and yet it always comes back, so I feel rather loyal to it.

i have a small suitcase and matching smaller bag in houndstooth, liz claiborne...which is beauty, but i don't have a matching large suitcase...i think i should just get a black one because a huge one in matching houndstooth might be too much

No, I just have a huge duffle bag that I use for most (long) trips. I absolutely LOVE it!! It's on wheels, and last summer when I went to Jamaica, while everyone else have at least 3 bags apiece, I had my duffle and carry-on.

Flying transatlantic at least ten times yearly, I got sick of my cheaper, mismatched, easily soiled luggage and splurged on the Samsonite Black Label Vintage collection also. Honestly? I used to travel a lot, and I was always afraid that if I got pretty luggage that someone would steal it off the airport carousal or the luggage racks on the train. Then I'd be stuck with out cloths for my trip! So plain black for me, and since I've traveled so much with it I can spot it half a mile away!

I have a cute big lesportsac weekender bag from nordstrom rack that was only 50 bucks I believe. I love how you can get all the matching pieces and it is really durable. Nordstrom rack always has great luggage.

I would like to know where that sweater is from. I think luggage should stand out so you can find it but will eventually get lost or destroyed by the airlines so I wouldn't spend too much on it.

I have polka-dotted luggage. It's cute and it's easy to find at the baggage claim. The usual colors are annoying because everyone has black, navy, or forest green.

Besides the DVF I also have some crappier luggage that I use for traveling to rougher places. I slap duct tape on it to make it look extra crappy. And I draw stuff on it with paint pens because everyone knows artists who draw crappy doodles are poor and doesn't have any luggage worth stealing. Heehee.

Loudserenity, go on a trip to India with your luggage, get porters to carry said luggage for you. That's how I destroyed a piece of crappy black luggage. The handle is gone (duct taped a piece of wood to it as a temporary replacement) and all the sides are frayed from being dragged on the ground and thrown onto splintery wooden carts.

Or leave your luggage unattended somewhere and someone will take it off your hands.

I have some DVF luggage...one large case, one just like it only a bit smaller and then a carry-on. I love them! That reminds me I let my boyfriends grandmother borrow one and she hasn't returned it yet. = (

i selected ' i really want some' before i remembered that i have the CUTEST isaac mizrahi bag that i travel with. it's white with bright pink flowers on it, and it's become a staple of what i travel with if it's a shorter trip. i do need to get a larger pretty bag though for my week long trips since i just have a boring black suitcase.

I feel like it's unwise to fly with expensive luggage, especially internationally, b/c it substantially increases the risk of its being stolen. And airlines are so hard on luggage! I have cute, cheap, easily identifiable luggage from TJ Maxx that has garnered lots of compliments at airports! Best of both worlds!

I have a really gorgeous black leather weekender which was a present, but its so so gorgeous. I took it traveling when I went to the middle east, but left it at my brother's in dubai when I went to india and egypt so as not to ruin it.
