Like nude, lace has an elderly connotation. Alas, designer Miuccia Prada hated the fabric, so she decided to take on the big challenge of forming her entire Fall collection out of it. Genius. And let me assure you, this isn't your grandma's lace.
A brilliant start is incorporating lace into your wardrobe via legwear, like these Fogal Lace Tights ($47). Imagine what a welcome change they could provide to an entirely black ensemble. But don't stop at tights, embrace lace all over. Tops, dresses, skirts, shoes — the lacier the better!

1any lace tights that aren't 50 bucks?
2I remember wearing lace tights last time they were in, around 2001 or 2002? Anyway, in retrospect they made my legs look fat so people should bear that in mind if trying this look for the first time!
3I've seen a lot of people wear these and they just don't interest me.

5catswig, i got some lace betsy johnson tights at tjmaxx for $10- AND they came double packed with some grey opaque ones. Def hit them up if you're looking.

7Hey Fab, a while ago you posted some designer's very detailed fishnet/lace style tights. I can't for the life of me remember who designed them, but thery were super detailed fishnets with stars, flowerrs. They were pretty rock and roll and to die for. I'm sure they're crazy expensive, but I NEED to know who makes them. Please let me know if this rings a bell. Thanks!
8i have been sporting lacey tights ever since i saw blair waldorf wear them in gossip girl season one (she wore red ones, white ones and 2 different black ones)... you see the thing is... in order for one not to look like a hooker, you have to keep the rest of the ensemble plain and simple (although blair wears and rocks the lacey stockings in whatever she wears be it a plain and simple dress or with a patterned dress). i have collected all sorts of colors! i got red, white black and purple! one caution though: when people who arent fashionistas see you wearing lacey stockings/tights... they'd be like "you look like you got them from your curtains". but what do they know about fashion?? i mean they were the same people who laughed at me when i was wearing a leather jacket!
9I like them a lot - but like another poster said I think that the detail may make my legs look bigger than they are 0 ahh well! Hehehe

10I am not crazy about the tights, but I will wear other pieces of clothing with lace used in it... like emalove bought a cardigan w/ lace. Great idea.
